Cingy 1q Numbers

1.42 net adds
2.2 Churn
Arpu -3.3
Insider numbers out today
Compare to Verizon 1q numbers:
1.64m net adds
1.3 churn
Arpu +2.0
3 for 3 over Cingular... boo yah! 🙂
BTW... You guys had a 1.6 million addition to the family... The difference is only 200,000 customers. Is it really THAT big of a victory? I think not, because Cingular is still on top. Last I checked, Cingular still had 6.6 million more subscribers than you.

Me too... You guys had a 1.6 million addition to the family... The difference is only 200,000 customers. Even though the website was not update with the total amount of subscribers, is it really THAT big of a victory? I think not, because Cingular is still on top. I checked & it said - First-quarter Verizon Wireless record of 1.64 million net customer additions, up 18.0 percent; 45.5 million total customers, up 16.8 percent I did the math &, Cingular still had 4.9 million more subscribers than you. At the end of the day... Cingular is still number 1 & that is what counts!
Network reliability counts too, as well as customer satisfaction and customer care.

Yup. And churn, and profits, and adds. All of which are things that VZW outperformed Cingy in.

Don't forget arrogance. They beat everyone hands down at that.
Cingular is #1 in total customers only. VZW is beating them in adds, churn, profits, arpu gains, customer service, you name it. And who's to say VZW won't do what cingular did and write a check to buy a few million customers via merger? Yeah, everyone says the antitrust guys won't let it happen, but its not like they're going to buy a 20+ million customer national carrier like cingular did anyway. Buying just a good-sized regional would put them ahead.
Enjoy being #1 at the one thing you're #1 in, while it lasts. I got a feeling it won't be that way for too long, paper champ.
(Also- we had cingular guy in here...

Actually VZW now has 45.5 million customers- the 43.8 figure is BEFORE this quarter's adds. So they're 4.9m behind, not 6.6.

Don't get me wrong, they'll keep fighting hard, but I think it'll be Verizon's game to lose from here on out. 🙂

Y'know actually I think its the other way around... Cingular had the momentum for one shining moment when the merger gave them all the headlines, and now they've gone and lost the momentum.

Well, here's to a fun game.

Are you like a gangsta? How about Digital Pimp? Cuz I am a Gaysta and that beats you anyday...

Actually... gayster refers to a ghetto fabulous gay man... I am one & i will claw your eyes out if given the chance... Cingular is #1 & you cant handle it.
Ok so youre outing yourself among a bunch of strangers- why? Its not like any one really cares about what you do with other consenting adults.

At the end of the day, it doesnt matter how well or how bad the quarted was. The fact still remains... Cingular is currently #1, weather the growth was natural or not. It doesnt matter what VZW did in the past or what they will future. Right NOW is what counts. Right NOW Cingular is #1.

This is the same arrogance that Cingular had in 2001 when they formed and were going to kick Verizon's butt. The sad thing is that until Cingular b...

At&t just happened to be a very LARGE merger. Yes, Verizon had many LITTLE mergers... but a merger is a merger is a merger.
Also... by your standard, VZW is just as guilty of the same thing
...
VZW's success has an indirect correlation to its many mergers.
IMO, they are even worse, since they had to merge with MANY

None of that matters to me... What matters to me AS A CUSTOMER, is how well the company is doing for me. Personally, I do not feel that VZW is the company to fulfil my needs. Cingular does.
Also what matters to me is how large the company is... and right now Cingular is #1.
I know it must be eating everyone alive right now, but it is a basic fact. Cingular is number one right now. At the end of the day, it doesnt matter how well or how bad the quarted was. The fact still remains... Cingular is currently #1, we

VZW #1 in all EXCEPT not buying a large company to compete with Cingular buying a large company. GO VZW! 😈
Who can Cingular buy to stay ahead??? T-Mobile already turned them down and it would be to expensive to buy a CDMA carrier and convert them.
It is only a matter of time and Cingular will be number 2 again and it must really suck for the people at Cingular knowing this and watching VZW add more customers in the first quarter. The funny thing is that I really don't think VZW is that worried about being number one, it appears they want to keep customers, win awards, and make money. I guess th...
