Incredible is driving me crazy

This freakin phone is about to ruin my life! 50% of the time I try and answer a call (phone in pocket or belt case) it hangs up on the caller. It has a horrible signal and places where I used to have no problems with my vzw phone get no signal. I can't use it in half my house and I had no problems with my VX-9400.

I just got back from a business trip and rarely could use it in the hotel. My boss has a basic verizon phone and had a great signal while I had to spend over $300 in long distance charges from the hotel phone. Frequently after I hang up it calls a recent number if my finger gets anywhere near the screen. The other day I was at a computer store and my wife heard me in the restroom at the urinal and while I was washing my hands. She thought it was pretty funny but said "be careful with tht phone, it's gonna cause you some problems".

I have to constantly check the phone to make sure I'm not connected to someone by mistake.

I've tried *228 option 1 and 2 several times but it has not helped. I love the features of this phone and need it's functions for my job if it would just work right!

Any ideas before I throw it in the river?

Either your phone has something wrong with it, or something you're doing is causing you trouble.

Now, before you get defensive, hear me out. I've been doing this for a very long time. Plus. I have this phone, and have been using it with few problems since before it was released.

Some smartphones just don't jive with some people. Sometimes, the way someone holds a phone can cause them more frustration than anything (volume changes, closing apps, making errant calls, etc).

Sometimes, the apps you've put on a phone can do funky things.

Sometimes, changing settings alters the way the phone was set up to run smoothly.

At times, your phone needs a simple reset, which is what I would suggest before you go completely crazy with ...

I have a ? reguarding the reinstalling of apps. I have 2.2 on my Motorola Droid. Isn't one of the features of 2.2 is that all you have to do is log into a new Android smartphone with your Gmail login and password, and then go to the market, and your apps are still there? I'm not just talking about paid apps, I'm talking about *all* apps.

Based on my experience, it only shows consistently shows paid apps. That is coming from having done several factory restores and changing phones.

I think the feature you're referring to is the ability to store apps to the sdcard. I haven't tried that yet because the incredible is still on 2.1 ☹️ but I would think that would allow your phone to recognize that apps were previously installed.
