Is anyone having problems with their original Moto Droid since updating to 2.2? So far, my issues are lag when changing from one app to another and shorter battery life. I thought android 2.2 would make this phone faster, but it seems slower.

not me! The only issues I had is when I moved all my apps to the sd card. Weather bug and app killer won't start as it takes time to load them from SD so I put those two back on the phone.

I'm having a similar problem with the Thunderstorm Live Wallpaper. When I power off my Droid and power it back on this perticular live wallpaper isn't there. And it's store on my sd card.
Btw, the Thunderstorm Live Wallpaper is so, so cool!!! Moving clouds, and lightning bolts moving across my screen!!!

stuff that's on your homescreen shouldn't be on your SD card, that really delays the startup time.
Games are the best things to have on SD card

I like to have any apps that are 1mb or larger on my sd card.
The Droid doesn't have much internal memory.

It has over 100mb of internal memory. more than enough to store all the stuff you have on your main screen

I had a similar problem with it went from 2.0 to 2.1. I just did a factory resest and reinstalled everything and that fixed to problem.
...
Really the only problem I'm having is when I press the home button it takes anyway from 10-15 seconds for my homescreen icons to reapear. Which is quie frustrating.

Have you spoken to Verizon about the issue? I have not yet, but I wonder if they are aware of it.

Got a system update last night, not sure what it was for, thought it was a fix, but still lagging!!!! I did get Flash Player 10.1 though!

Yes! I've had lots of problems with these stupid "updates".
Back when it was 2.0 I pretty much considered the iPhone defeated. When 2.1 released I quit bragging. And now with 2.2 I'm ready to throw my phone under a moving truck! I'll list a few problems:
- Lag, its everywhere! The apps take longer to load, screen takes a while to load homescreen after exiting an app or browser, takes longer to start up and shut down, and very buggy at scrolling from one screen to the next.
- Glitches and force closes. Used to I had no problem loading an app or playing YouTube etc. Now I sometimes get a force close when STARTING THE PHONE! YouTube is very glitchy. The OS is now very sluggish and buggy. Pinch zoom has also gotten worse.
