Can someone please tell me why is Verizon W and Cingular are so expensive?

60 + 10
for just 500 anytime family plan?

Cingular W
50 + 20
for 600 anytime family plan

Alltel W
60 + 10
for 900 anytime and you also get unlimited mobile to home as well!

And Alltel has just as good coverage as the BIG GUYS ....

is everybody missing this or is this just me?

W/ VZW 59.99 is for 2 lines

Of course VZW and Cingular are more expensive, they have the largest networks in America and it is expensive to keep them up, its like asking why do Mercedes and Lexus cost more to buy than a Kia?

They are better than the competition and quality cost money

Well, for the Alltel plan you were talking about, the minutes are good, but some of that map is roaming at 59 cents/minute, plus 40 cents/minute long distance while roaming. Ow. ☚ī¸

To get the no-roaming charges Alltel family plan, you got to move up 'Total Freedom', which is 60 + 10 bucks for, you guessed it, 500 minutes, i.e. more expensive than Verizon. Whose plans are no roaming charges to begin with. 🙂

Plus you get unlimited N&W and M2M minutes on the Verizon plan... you're limited to 1000 on Alltel Total Freedom.
