Question about phone discounts/contract renewal

Victek

I'm thinking about upgrading my phone and remembering that discounts actually kick in a few months before the contract expires. Can someone explain how this works? Are the early discounts separate from the NE2? Thanks!

Nothing I've read confirms that the iPhone is around the corner, but really, at this point why care? There are many excellent smartphones to choose from now and more coming all the time.

Upgrades are at 20 months which also includes the NE2. However a primary line or single line of $49.99 or above can get an upgrade after 12 months but you will forfeit your NE2 if you do anything before the 20 month point.

Normal upgrades are at 20 months. If you are a single line (or primary on family share) you also get your new Every 2 at this point, which is an additional 30 or 50 off the 2yr pricing on the phone.

Early upgrades are for single or primarly lines on Nationwide Talk and text plans, or single lines on Nationwide Talk 900 and Family primarys on nationwide talk 1400 plans. This allows them to upgrade every 12 months instead of 20 for only $20 more than the normal 2 year pricing, but they do not get their NE2 and their NE2 date is reset to 20 months from that upgrade
