ally for new smartphone user

Im looking for some genuine info regarding the ally. the mrs. is a new smartphone user primarily wants for facebook txting and calls. occational web browzing. Can someone please give me opinions on this phone. it is currently free with upgrade for me.

But I wish I would have forked over the extra $50 to $100 more towards the next tier. Her processor is terrible after getting use to the incredible.
The navigation app was too slow to use. I would get a high tier Droid and not look back if I were you.

For just a few extra dollars, you can get a great phone instead of a good one, particularly if you're in a position to get two phones instead of one with all the crazy BOGO offers VZW has going right now.

The Droid X is only $100 when you buy two of them. That's a crazy good deal. I've already pushed one pair of family members into the store for that upgrade.

The only reason I would have to recommend the Ally to you is if you're only...

on the Ally is a great selling point. You could spend a little more and get better features, but the keyboard on the Ally is the best on VZWs smartphones. Processor is a bit slow by comparison to the other smart phones. It's a solid phone for a first time user. If you have the money, though, I'd go for the Incredible or Fascinate for her. Incredible has a great camera. Fascinate has a great screen and a decent camera.
