that Verizon is breaking the cliché of engaging in price wars solely with AT&T, with their recent introduction of the Unlimited Any Mobile Plan. Call me a Sprint fanboy if you'd like, but I reckon Verizon is fearful of Sprint's potential to steal a hefty portion of the market.
It's no longer an opinion that Sprint is gaining speed - they started the year off with positive customer growth (a first for Sprint in years). As Sprint regrows their brand image and appeal, their aggressive pricing guarantees success. Verizon already attracts the largest appeal, but it lacked in the pricing department - until now.
Of course, VZW's $59.99 does not include unlimited data. In order to get what Sprint offers with the $69.99 Everything Data 450 ...

Sprint needs a new marketing department before they'll be a threat. Full stop. The cheapest prices in the world will not give you customers if people don't know that the customer service/coverage is there. (which it may be, but sprint's not advertisign that)
And Verizon's test deal (the 69.99 one) DOES include smartphone data. They're also testing an any mobile plan in different areas.

I'd have to agree. I've thought for a long time that Sprint has the worst advertising ever. Sometimes it seems like they've got something good going and they switch it up to something craptastic. Its seems like they're hoping to get by on minimal advertising and word of mouth.

Sprint can advertise it's cheapness all it wants. Their network has poor coverage, plain and simple. I won't use them again.

verizon sucks, dropped calls. poor coverage. high cost...period
...
Verizon does suck but then all carriers do. They are very expensive. If they are not the most expensive then it is only because AT&T seeks to match their pricing in every way so that the two are equally as expensive. Poor coverage? I have to cry bull*Bleep* there. Sorry. When a rural carrier such as Alltel is bought out by a Metropolitan behemoth as Verizon was hell the only thing they have going for them is monster coverage. Dropped calls? That would be surprising. It happens but I can't imagine it happening very often. I'm not saying not to hate the greedy *Bleep*ards. They are scum and we all know it, but if you make things up you will have no credibility whatsoever.

The only thing I don't like about Verizon, after having been with them for 9 months now is how often data drops from 3G to 1x on the !!SUPPOSED!! "America's most reliable network"
IF it was so "reliable" it wouldn't drop to 1x so often.

That this is the only other post you have, Jackhandy...
Dont shop Authorized Verizon Retailers' store in Northern Nevada
by jackhandy Today, 7:45 PM
Truth be told, I have found that Authorized Verizon Retailer stores in Northern Nevada dont care about you. The ONLY important element is making the sale...they pay 3=bucks for cheaply made accessories and sell em for 29.99. With only a couple of exceptions, the only reason any staff acts like they care is cause they can and will lose their job by not meeting their closely watched quotas.
They have no problem selling a 68 year old customer a droid phone thy cant use and dont want by making them feel stupid for not understanding how to use one. They have cheap phones but pretend to...

Poor coverage? Maybe if you are a truck driver but if you purchase Sprint and you need coverage in bum*Bleep* Mississippi that's on you honestly. I don't believe that Sprint or T-Mobile have ever misrepresented themselves as covering the entire continental map. A little research on the part of even the average consumer will bear this out.

50+ million use the Sprint network,...it can't be that bad.

It doesn't matter how many people use what network. all that matters is reception for that user.

I'm thinking customer service accounts for a big portion of my loyalty to big red.... took the fiance' and her "new" samsung to a Sprint store the other day to swap her "new" phone because out of the box all you could hear was static on it..... walked in the store got treated like I was an idiot and told we would have to pay a $35 restocking fee for her to swap her phone (and yes it was within the 30 days). Then told that the phone she had was refurbished!!!!!! even though our sales receipt printed from the website says new..... nothing about refurb. Then the rude @$$ people tell us they cant process the swap and to call customer service back and have them send a phone..... even though cust service is who told us to go to that store.... even...

While your loyalty to Big Red is admirable (if misguided) you should know that this could have happened at any corporate store...even VZW. You've purchased a phone online and are asking someone who in their narrow mindset probably feels that he could be making commission off of a customer rather than dealing with you. Now. It's NOT right. We had some guy trying to justify being a jerk a few weeks ago and of course most of us shouted him down. Still, that does not mean the mindset does not exist. All I am saying is that it is not some virtue of Verizon. Those reps in that Sprint store SHOULD have exchanged the phone under DOA, no question. The adversarial relationship between customer care and retail makes no sense at any carrier but ...

I would consider loyalty to any carrier misguided. They don't care about you. Why should you invest emotions in them? Pay your money and receive the service. Capitalism works again.

That just because a lot of people use something, doesn't mean its great. Your statement was that 50+ millions use Sprint, and that still doesn't mean it's great.
