Ok, we've heard the CES announcements...now what?
With all of the announcements today I think I'm more confused than ever. My NE2 is in play but I need to make a purchase before 1/16 to get 1 additional NE2 (according to what I've read on this forum). With all of that I think I'm back where I started; trading my BB Storm for a Moto Global 2. Sure it's not LTE cool but pretty much does everything I need it to do. And I get the benefit of not having to deal with new phone or network technology issues.

Like you I suffered for several years with the BBS1 but was hesitant to make the jump to Android.
Like Menno I picked up the DINC when Best Buy was givinng them away; Gawd what a gooooood decision.
The first afternoon I was playing with it, setting it up and struggling to learn/unlearn everything I knew and like about BB's. By the second day I knew they'd have to pry it from my cold dead fingers lol. This phone is amazing. By the time they get all of the kinks out of LTE and the prices start coming down it'll be next year. I'm not worried about having a phone with "old specs".
At this price point I'm very happy.

I picked up the Incredible from Best Buy for $0 as well. Let me tell you...I was fiddling with a 9650 today and I was totally lost. I remember how bummed I was with having to give up my 8330 to save the thirty bucks a few years ago. I cannot see going back now. Wow! Still, if the Thunderbolt were available and I could keep my grandfathered rate plan (which I seriously doubt) I would go for it. As long as it has backward compatibility wiht 1x and Rev A why not?

$0 is pretty tough to beat. I don't know of any $0 phones right now that I'd want (still have my eye on the Droid Global 2 as I like the big screen, keyboard option, droid 2.2 and the faster processor).

Yeah, see for me that was it; I really wanted to wait for CES and see what was coming out the first quarter but my BBS1 just got too laggy and too much work anymore to run so.....
free on a phone like the DINC was too much to ignore. And by the way, I don't mean to imply that Menno took advantage of the Best Buy deal, I was only speaking for myself, it's just that he mentiond upgrading to the DINC and loved his as well.

Yeah, Menno got his used. Within a day of activating it, he was raving about it to me (preaching to the choir, as I have it, too).

And after all that I ended up getting the Droid X. The sales guy convinced me I wouldn't be using the keyboard in a couple of months and I really don't need the Global part AND that I wouldn't really notice the extra processing power wouldn't really be noticed. I figured he must have some extra incentive for selling me this phone, ha ha! But it seems to be a pretty cool phone. Now I just need to figure it out!
