Regarding: Bluetooth functionality and the Motorola V710

Dear Sirs:

Ok, I understand (now) why Verizon disabled the movement of data (ringtones, mp3s, photos). You (Verizon) figured out a way for the customer to pay for these transfers. Smart, slimy business for not telling the customer upfront and then outright lying saying the problem would be fixed with an update sometime in November of 2004, but smart.

What I really wanted my phone to let me do was synchronize my contacts and calendar. I could care less about the camera and mp3 player, I...

Yeah, that's a brilliant reaction. Just because we're sick of hearing about this doesn't mean Verizon isn't screwing us out of our hard earned money. But after hearing Verizon's CEO basically telling us to "quite whining, it's a wireless device", I don't think the company's in the right mindset to help us out. Hey! Denny! My contract's over in December, you lout!

Funny thing is YOU bought that phone. No one forced it on you. Unless you can prove someway that you were misled by the bluetooth capabilities (which i believe were addressed in a SW update) you are wasting your breath.

this is just funny to me... if you want out of the contract then buy yourself out of it.. Just pay the ETF (175.00) and leave.. if you are that dissatisfied with it then why are you still with "us" (Verizon)

people like you humor me when i get these calls while i am at work..

but ya... if you are that dissatisfied then buy yourself out.. geesh not that difficult, im sorry that you think that we should just let you disconnect w/o a penalty,

**YOU signed the contract**

***No one forced YOU***

So now I understand. That’s fine. Most customers will not even know what you (Verizon) did to the phone or why. But, I do, and I signed a two year contract to purchase this very expensive phone.

"Please let me out of the contract. Verizon misrepresented the phone when it was released then lied about updates to fix the data transfer. "

You can transfer files with the phone via bluetooth once you upgrade the software. You have to take the phone to the store and have the phone flashed to the new software version.

On behalf of the rest of the Verizon Wireless employees who work hard at what we do, I'm sorry that something like this will lose you as a loyal customer. There is, and has been, a great deal of options in the wireless arena, and thank you for your continued patronage over the last 7 years. I hope that you will allow us the opportunity to win back your business some day in the future. All the best.

first off, why would you write your first and last name on a forum and try to remain anonymous?

second, you state that you've contributed to the class action lawsuit against the company that you're asking a courtesy credit from. "SURE! lets go ahead and credit that early term fee for you!" πŸ™„ pleeeeeaase.

YOU signed the contract, YOU had 15 days to try the phone. that's all. this subject has been beaten to death again and again.

this lawsuit will go nowhere, i'm sorry you wasted a few stamps sending these letters to Denny and Kirtland & Packard- the attention deprived law firm. and sorry we will not credit you for the stamps either.

p.s. don't exagerate how long you've been with us, its not like denny can't figure that out...

They don't need to 'treasure their customers'.. There is more profit in the cancellation fees... If you read the posts here.. Verizon looses cash on every customer..

NOT.....

I really dislike ignorant people!!!! What i dont understand is why no one knows that you can take your V710 into a direct store and get the software updated to have the full capabilities of the Bluetooth. Also any new purchases of the V710 has the new software update.

I completely agree that Verizon shouldn't cripple their bluetooth (ppl refer to VZW's lame implementation as 'Aquatooth'), but the whole "I can't wait until Cingular blows them away thing" is simply wishful thinking.

I'm sure we all remember one poster here in particular who said day after day (after day...) that Cingular was going to own all, and Verizon had 'had it'... until last quarter's results came in and gave him (and Big Orange) quite a wake-up call. If you're waiting for Verizon to get 'blown away', be sure to get comfortable, because you're going to be waiting an awfully long time.

to be quite frank and to the point, this is stupid. Your contract doesn't state anything about the features of a phone. If everyone complained like this then we'd have people try to get out of contracts because the blue color on their screen is not what the picture shows. I can't believe you went to all this trouble for something so stupid and trivial as this. You should have just gotten a Palm or something more geared toward organization and emails than a phone.

I don't generally post in this forum, as I don't know nearly as much about CDMA technology as GSM, but I think I can explain a little the reason for so many people's frustration with the V710. Personally, I think Verizon is an excellent carrier, and consumer surveys back that up, and from the limited opportunities I've had to play with the V710, it seems like a pretty good phone overall. Still, I would never consider Verizon over a GSM carrier - they may have a more reliable network, but I rarely drop calls on any of the lines that I use, and it's never much of an inconvience when it does happen.

The thing that's important to me is phone selection and the features on those phones. I use bluetooth constantly throughout the day - to hot-...

It isnt about gsm vs cdma. It about a contract that vzw had with brew that makes them not allow users to transfer the same files brew is capable of tansfering. "gsm" phones or cingular/tmobile phones are also rushed to line in order to get those phones to the people who are to damn spoiled to wait till more effective testing is done on them. Then they cry when it has "all the bells and whistles" but low reliability.
