Bear...
I just got my new Samsung N330 on Saturday. All in all, it's a good phone and it's a nice change from my LG-4500. But I have one concern...noticed if I powered down the phone, then turned it back on that the network roam option always resets itself to "home only". As far as I know, here in S.F., CA., I should be on "automatic B". I was having some earlier issues with background noise being "clipped", and signal strength/connectivity...but that went away when I switched over to auto-B. It's not really too much of a problem, for I leave my phone on 24/7...but more of a nusence. My LG-4500 I could power off/on and it would always stay on auto-B. Is this something that is just programmed into this Samsung, or could it be a defect...

Doesn't sound good. There's no reason the phone should be "defaulting" to home only whenever you power up.

You could try a master reset, or see about having the phone "flashed" by a technician at a VZW service center.

But I wouldn't go that route. If the phone is less than 30 days old and you purchased it from VZW, you should just get it exchanged for a brand new phone. If you can actually replicate the problem for a retail service representative, they should exchange the phone with no questions asked. You shouldn't have to troubleshoot a phone within the first 30 days.

What you are describing is a fundamental problem. Some parts of the country are Automatic A and some are Automatic B. But none are Home Only. Home only will r...

Hi Bear, and thanks for your reply.

Are you absolutely certain that it is switching itself back to Home Only?

Yes...I've turned off the phone, then turned it back on several times...and each time when I power it back up and go to check in settings, it's back to "home only".

Or is it switching back to Home Only whenever you go into that section of the menu?

No, as long as the phone is left "on", it will stay in Automatic B. It's basically the only flaw with the phone...otherwise it works perfectly. My phone is on 24/7 anyhow, so unless I need to reboot after a *228...then it won't be an issue. It's just kind of an annoyance to go into the menu to move it to Auto-B after powering up again. And all the other settings I've...
