I had to replace my iPhone today due to some anomalies with the internet. Just wanted to pass this on in case some of you are having the same issues:
I received my first Verizon iPhone soon after I preordered it online. Everything worked as advertised. A few days ago, my 3G internet stopped working. Wifi worked just fine.
I live near a Verizon store so I took the phone in. There was no service issue in the area, as other iPhones/Droids had been receiving internet just fine.
The only way we could get the internet to work was to Reset Network Settings. It would work until I turned the phone off, or established a Wifi connection then leave it.

Out of curiosity, did you try restarting your laptop while your Internet Explorer wasn't working?

That is a really strange experience then. You sounded knowledgeable enough that I expected you tried restarting but that was the only thing that I could think of that might have fixed it. But you didn't mention it so I thought I would ask.

I agree that my Internet Explorer anomaly possibly tied with my first iPhone may be one of a kind, or as I mentioned before, just bad timing. Who knows with Windows and its continuous irregularities.
As far as my overall iPhone experience, I have been impressed.

I've been having and seeing weird Internet issues on Droids in Indiana this week. Data will stop and you have to either power cycle or do airplane mode off and on to fix. At times data just stops all together for a couple minutes no matter what.

Thanks for that update. Unfortunately, a power cycle didn't work for my first phone, except for the full network reset as mentioned. Currently, I have had no issues whatsoever with my replacement. Working like a champ.

One last thing..I wanted to express how impressed I was that Verizon customer service did everything they could to try and resolve my issue. Furthermore, when I went into the store, I had a replacement within 10 minutes. Another reason why I have been with Verizon for over 10 years now.

I have always had great experiences with them as well. It surprises me when I hear of people complaining about their customer service because they have always been great to me. Not saying that those people are lying, just surprised when they don't get treated well.
