NEW YORK —The Verizon iPhone loads Web pages just as fast as AT&T's version of the phone, even though Verizon's network has lower data speeds, a phone testing firm reported Monday.
Verizon Wireless started selling Apple's phone in February, as the first carrier to do so in the U.S. after AT&T.
Verizon uses an older network technology with data speeds lower than AT&T's. Testing firm Metrico Wireless said data downloads on the Verizon iPhone turned out to be half as fast as those on AT&T's network.
However, because Web pages load just as fast, users may not notice the difference, except when downloading large files.

To a point I think that reliability can beat out speed. I owned an AT&T iPhone for over 6 months. I live in an Edge area so I didn't get to experience their 3G a ton, but there were some close by cities that had it. I noticed that their fast speeds weren't reliable. Sure a speedtest might give you 3 megs at times but there would also be times it was under 1 meg. You'd also still have trouble loading things. I read a review a while back that stated the same thing. Like on Google Maps or something. With AT&T even though it might be faster it just doesn't always work. If might start loading the map and then stop for a long time before starting again or it just may never finish. With Verizon things are much more consistent. You're spe...
