I think I just read that the above is about to come out in July, wo PPT. Is it as big as the 4700 or will it be smaller. Can't seem to find a pix anywhere.

What do you mean 4500 POS. I have one, my fiance has one, my gf has one, about 5 of friends have em... they are one of the most consistent phone Verizon offers... sounds to me like your talking ballocks.

my opinion on this phone is that is it a good phone, its just the 3200 with a caller ID on the front, but the problem with this phone is, its ugly as hell!

Believe me I see alot of 4500's come back. I will be glad to see it go. The 4650 will be a nice replacement.

I saw a dummy of the phone. It is the same as the 4700 (minus ppt) but it is silver and more charcoal grey, not black. According to Verizon guy, it will only be sold on the web. And the speaking will not work with phone closed. According to him there is no speaker phone that works in the closed position.

I just got mine and was told I can not and see no evidence that I can.
The screen on the 4650 (4700) is smaller than on the 4500, so altho I was in no rush, I got the 4500. Still have a week to decide whether I am happy with it. My biggest problem is that I keep accidently pushing the side buttons.
