Hey everyone, I just step up my phone from the LG4500 to the V710 with my new every two. Luckily I got it for free. Anyway. I got 2 question. 1 Is there a way to transfer the ringers I have from the 4500 to the 710? Also are there any sites out there people have heard of were you can get free ringers for Vz phones?

OK, you need to write down all the ring tones and games that you have on your old handset. Then you will have to re-download that same content to you new 710. The CSR at your local VZW store should know the procedure for issuing you the credits for the content to your bill. If they don't know keep asking about it until you get to the manager. Ask the CSR that's been with VZW the longest.

lol, nice try.

if you upgrade your phone, you don't get to transfer the ringtones for free. that's only if there's a warranty replacement or an insurance replacement.

Even then, you should only get them replaced on insurance if the phone is stolen. I would hesitate and triple check M&P's about crediting for GIN when someone lost their phone or dropped it in the toilet. That's your own fault. A stolen phone is too to a degree, but I would be nice in that situation.

Doesnt matter who's fault it is. Customers dont drop phones in the toilet for fun. If you purchase something on GIN you shouldnt have to purchase it again later. VZW need to come up with some similar to Sprint that keeps track of your purchases and lets you redownload them if necessary.

Actually it DOES matter whoes fault it is. It's not our money to give away. GIN products are owned by the providers. We do however keep track of what's been purchased. That's how we credit for warranty exchanges.

If you drop your phone in the water, you just dropped your ringtones and games in too. Try bugging the insurance company about it then. You insured your phone with them, the ringtones a and games were in it. See how far that gets you.

I would credit a customer if they came to me. Its just good customer service. What would it be, at the most $50? Not worth upsetting a customer. More VZW employees need to use their powers to please their customers or we'll all be out of a job.

Well I guess it'd also depend on their history. If they always pay on time and don't call all the time for credits, and ask nicely, I'd be much more likely to do it. In fact I just did a few days ago. Phone went into the pool along with some unused ModTones credits. I gave her $4 and she was happy.

Sometimes it seems like "empowerment" is secret talk for "here's enough rope".

so YOU'RE the reaseon my sti could've been higher...

i used to take calls, now i do something else, but i still pull up accounts and can't believe all the crap vzw reps give away. it's absolutely unbelievable. too many reps take way too much advantage of their "empowerment" (ie:i'm going to give you some money to shut you up), instead of actually dealing with the issue
your example is a great one. not only are you issuing credits for the customer to download ringtones they KNEW they were not going to be able to keep, vzw ALSO has to pay the GIN vendor (ie: modtones) when they redownload. so your $50 credit became $100 that quickly.

vzw trains its reps really well about this in training, they give them a chart that shows how a c...
