Problems with Motorola V60s after software upgrade
Hi, so I finally got around to getting the software on my V60s upgraded to 8600_03.0F.00 and now it's doing some odd things.
Everytime I turn it on, it comes on with the speakerphone on, there doesn't seem to be any way to disable that behaviour.
Also, battery life seems to be a lot less now, could just be time taking it's toll (it's the original battery and I've had it since I got the phone back in December 2003 when they first came out.)
Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Is there a newer version of the software the fixes these issues? I got the upgrade done about 4-8 weeks ago, I don't remember exactly when.
Thanks!

Its time all you V60 fans admit that they are CRAP. Join the year 2005 and dump your old V60 POS! There is a reason VZW doesn't carry it anymore, that should tell you something.

For a piece of crap, that's one durable piece of crap.
I've seen the V60 be used as a hockey puck, drop out of a 2 story window onto some soft concrete with a rather impressive clunk and it still seems to hold off.
As to the battery life, the most I can think of is the battery's so called "memory." See, these old batteries have this problem that when you plug in your phone every night, the phone gets this idea that it only has so much charge in it. It no longer gets into the habit of using the old charge, so it thinks it has less charge than it really does.
My SCH-A310 had that problem.
It would last about 12 hours between charges. It puckered arse.

Thanks nwdavis, your reply was very helpful and informative. The phone works fine, has good battery life, and clear call quality, I don't care about color/cameras/games/etc. If you want to buy me a new phone, I'll gladly accept a gift, but untl I qualify for my "new every two" come October, I'll stick with the V60S

just wondering do you even know why we don't carry it anymore? Do you work for VZW?

everyone at VZZW knows the V60s' is a POS, but the older model V60i and C i believe are great and still great. Also i believe it is Motorola who is doing away with the V60's series and not VZW necessarily. The 60's are being updated to the new 65PTT and i believe also there is a normal version of it in the works. These will include color screens and get it now apps i believe. But i would take my V60i over alot of other phones out there.
