I have an LG VX8000 and I was wondering how to download free ringtones. I have found several free wap sites, but when i click download, they just repeat over and over again. Is there some way to save them to my phone or is there a better site to use?

This is the one ive been trying to use:

well im not sure how to do that.. but a good solution to fix that is, by using the voice memos and using that as a ring.. I take songs from my ipod and my computer play the songs loud into the mic and then i make it my ring.. works amazing.

I tried that, but ringtones are full of static in a quiet room and are not loud enough. When they get loud, the speaker cracks. I cant figure this out, it may be obvious to some of you. I have a few options on the "menu" side. Snapshots? ive tried that but it seems to only save images properly and i can only view them on the web, not on my phone.

Why don't you just purchase them through Get It Now? That's the real proper way to do it. VZW does not support the downloading of content from ANY website to its phones. Other than the Pix Place site for photos. All downloads must be done via the Get It Now.

This isnt true- Its what VZW wants you to think, that you can only download ringtones via Get it Now- If you have a camera phone you can easily send pix/wallpapers/ringers to your phone as long as you send to 10dig#@vzwpix.com. I use http://www.myphonefiles.com, there are alot of other sites out there though- Unlimted ringer/wallpaper downloads for like 3.99 a month or something around that- If you dont have a pix package on your Verizon Wireless account though you will be charged .25 per download

In order to download tones or graphics to your Verizon Wireless phone from a outside site other then a VZW site you need to send the tone/graphic to your wireless # @ vzwpix.com. ex [email protected].

It will come through as a pix/file- save it and there you go !
