Replacing antenna on my Audiovox 9900

I'd like to replace my damaged but functional antenna on my Audiovox 9900 with a genuine replacment OEM antenna, but I want to make sure I can easily install it before I do. I was told that my antenna should simply unscrew. Is that correct, or is there any trick to removing the old and installing the new? (When I try to unscrew my antenna, it moves a few degrees, but then stops.) Anybody have any experience with this? Thanks.

Yes it should unscrew and you should be able to screw in the first one.

I've replaced my 9900's antenna. It does unscrew, you just gotta put a little into it. It's extremely simple to replace the antenna.

I too had to replace my antenna. Yes, it's a simple matter of unscrewing the old and screwing in the new one. However, you will probably not find the replacement antenna in Verizon stores. You will have to phone Verizon and have them ship it to you from a warehouse. Mine came via FEDEX a couple of months ago. It was under $10.
