Cingy is offering 4000 minutes for $150 vs VZW 3000

Will vzw get the 4000 minute plan? I am with vzw but an extra 1000 minutes for same money would help. 😁

Or, as an option - no need to start a flame war - you can get unlimited from Nextel for $129.99.

Hey thats a great idea. If only Nextel would work. It doesn't work anywhere I go. At all. That sux. 🙄

Or you could take advantage of In Network calling.

my question is, why does verizon give family plans 500 minutes less for the same cost? You have more people using the same minutes on family plans. I am on the 1500 minute plan, I probably would go up to the next level if it was 3000 minutes, not 2500, so, you can mark me down as a customer that is surviving on the $100 plan, verizon is losing $50 a month of revenue by short changing us the 500 minutes. I just make use of the in network minutes more, so, I still get the minutes, and save $600 a year

Are you complaining that you are able to save $600 a year?

The bottom line is that in most major cities - where most people live, almost all of the carriers work. in this time of a very, very competitive wireless market place will vzw follow suit? I would be interested to know how cingy and vzw are impacting the smaller carriers like alltel, nextel and t-mobile. I do not think the impact has been great. No, I am not willing to pay the same for less coverage. All carriers work where I live and travel. Farm animals do not need wireless products. VZW needs to set up and get more phones and better rate plans or people (even those with 10 plus years with vzw)will explore their options, and probably find out that most of what we try works.

I dont think Cingy or Verizon are doing anything to little old Alltel whose national coverage has just improved and oh man is it nice looking. When it comes to family share lines, I would personaly pick alltel's. Look at it this way, national plan, Verizon and cingy gives you 500 a/t mins, free n&w and free m2m for 59.99. Sweet that they include both phones but for alltel, 69.98 which is 10 dollars more gives me 900 a/t mins, free n&w, free m2m and free mobile to home. Now I can just do it the hard way if I like and go with a local family share plan, 69.98 gives me 1200 a/t mins and all the same extras. When I decide I want to go to florida, I can call alltel up and change to a national plan and not have to extend my contract 🙂. On single p...

I forgot to also mention that sure for 69.98 I get 900 minutes and verizon and cingy only gives you 500. In order to get an equal amoun of minutes, you have to pay 79.99 which is 10 dollars more but sure you get 100 minutes. so with alltel I pay 10 dollars more and get 400 more minutes then verizon and ciny and if I was with cingy or verizon I pay 10 dollars more then the alltel and get only 100 minutes more, great value. Ok so 900 minutes and 1000 is not enough. If I pay 99.99 with ciny and verizon I get 1500 minutes. Now with alltel for 109.98 I get 2000 minutes, thats 500 more minutes for just paying 10 dollars more. So who offers the better deal. In my opinion I say alltel but a person who only needs 1500 mins can say verizon and cingy. ...

It's the same price as a single phone that would have more minutes because there are two phones. They have to charge you something for the second phone.

I think Verizon is banking on the fact that people don't mind paying more at that level of usage for their service, which they consider to be more reliable nationwide. Personally, I know I could save some money by going back to Sprint, or to Cingular. But I don't mind paying a bit of a premium with the expectation (with expectations always met) that I can travel anywhere in the US, and still be able to get good, quality service wherever I go. With Sprint, service was very inconsistent when I traveled. I have never tried Cingular out of town, but am relying on what others have told me---that they've had to borrow phones from Verizon customers while traveling as Cingular had a bad signal or no signal.
If the other carries achieve the prove...

Wireless Week's 'Carrier of the Year for 2004' was Cingular. Yeah, please put down the pipe, your teeth will rot out.

On a side note:
Calling a colleague of mine today from the office, I kept getting his Voicemail. I was finally able to reach him regarding his agenda for the rest of the weak, but he kept cutting in and out. He kept saying, 'hold on guy you are breaking up'. I told him it must be his cell phone because I was on my office line. He sighed with utter dismay and says 'Farkin Verizon... CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?!?!?'
🤣
He was in California of all places. Verizon's "bread and butter". He was even more upset that he just signed a contract with them. I told him that's why I just use them for my wireless internet. Of course you...

🤣 If he was in a "dead zone" I can believe it. 😕 Biggest problem Verizon here is getting permits to put up new cell towers because they want to make sure "WE CAN HEAR YOU NOW!!"

😁 Biggest side of the coin is customer service. I'm a customer, not a Verizon rep or dealer. I called *611 last week to talk to Verizon about my plan and phones and the representative spent 20 minutes discussing my options AND discounts. Oh, BTW, I was never "passed off" to a "supervisor".

Dead zone?
I thought Verizon didn't have those. You better call them up so they can get one of those spiffy mobile cell units out there on the double.

I just thought it was funny because people on this board have said that Verizon rules in California, but I experienced the exact opposite...

I never said Verizon rules California... just the Bay Area. And man, it sure does. 🙂

Why all the catty remarks about VZW, though? Did the 'Can you hear me now' guy run over your dog with his van? 🙄

I've used Verizon in SoCal too. I've used Cingular there too. Both are fine. I still have my Data through Verizon. I just thought it was funny that the guy said Verizon had a 'deadzone'. I wasn't trying to get in a pissing contest with 'Mr. Igottastickmynoseineveryone'sbusiness'. 🙄

😲 There is a LOT of stuff called mountains and desert in Arizona. When the nearest town is over 100 miles away you will have a few dead zones. In the populated area I rarely have a problem hearing someone unless they are using Cingy. 🤣
