What features on LG 3200 or 6100 are removed by Verizon?

When I look at the capabilities listed for these two phones, what should I figure on NOT having without getting some sort of download (at additional cost) from Verizon?

Thanks!

I guess I misunderstood the phone reviews. I thought I read that some capabilities, like downloading ringtones, were removed or altered in such a way that you could only get them by purchasing from (and paying) verizon. i.e., you could not make up your own ringtones and input them into the phone.

Also, can you explain what it means when someone says he sells the phone "unlocked"?

Thanks!

True, you can not import your own ringtones to a Verizon phone. You must use a service on their phones called Get It Now, or on the LG 3200 use Vtext.com. The phones will come with 15-20 ringtones preloaded, but you will have to purchase other ones if you do not like the factory ones.

I take it, then, that I cannot make my own. My son plays fiddle and I was hoping to use one of his tunes as a ringtone...

you can record your own ringtone on either one of those phones by recording a voice memo and then setting it as your ringer. It actually works pretty well so your son could play one of his cd's and hold the phone up to the speaker and record it as a voicememo and set it as his ringer, I used to do it with my 6100, it takes a little practice to get them recorded well, but when you do it is worth it.

I have seen the VX3200 brought to me by a customer of the other guys (CellularOne) and the phone had a BREW Icon and a browser. Both of these features are not available on the VZW VX3200. I pulled the battery and it did state the VX3200 as model number. I wonder why VZW would remove a revenue stream from the phone. I have a feeling it maybe due to fact this was entry level phone....and they alone make money off of the vtext ringers. So cheap phone in the hands of lots of younger people...and only VZW can provide ringers...not a bad idea. I retract the above statement about removing a revenue stream. They left one that is 100% them. Smart.
