Can anybody predict the liklihood of the Samsung Stratosphere getting ICS?

It already has GB, so it's only one upgrade away. Plus it has plenty of internal memory. Based on the Stratosphere's specs, can anyone predict if it will get upgraded to ICS?

I can predict that Samsung will continue to disappoint in every conceivable way with respect to software upgrades.

Hell, the stock Clock my Fascinate is still incapable of setting a one-time alarm to go off tomorrow morning... I had to install an outside app just to get me out of bed!

Don't get your hopes up. Go HTC or Motorola (or Nexus) if you want timely software upgrades.

I'm pondering the Rezound.

Does dual-core + 1gb of ram make web.pages load faster, you think?

I wouldn't think the RAM would affect web browsing. Web browsing is more about the data stream and the processing power- not a whole lot of stuff to cache out in the RAM. I think excessive RAM would only be a benefit to the apps.

If implemented properly, the dual core setup could do things like render javascripts quicker, I suppose.

But- I'm a radio frequency guy, not a processor and RAM expert. I wouldn't put too much water in my musings here.

Well I did go to a Vzn store and messed around with a Rezound, it did seem to load webpages faster than my Charge.

Hey, here's an app recommendation for you if you like reading tech articles on the web, it's called Appy Geek.

Wow, I'm shocked. Just received a Gingerbread 2.3 update for my Samsung Fascinate. Only a year late, like so many Samsung features, but I'm patently shocked that they even did it!

The Samsung I've come to know (and "love") would never consider a major software release for a handset over 12 months old.

Of course, it would be nice if it didn't take them almost a year to put such a release together, but this is at least a glimpse at the idea that they might actually care about servicing current customers!

Maybe they are trying to suck less...
