LG vx6100 vs. MOTO v710

I was wondering what the thoughts are between these two phones given my requirements listed below. In addition I noticed that the 710 is not available on-line through VZW. Does that suggest I can not find it in a local VZW store in Denver?

"I am signing up again for another two years and will be upgrading my phone through NE2. I do not want to lay out any money for the phone (rebated money is permitted). I have taken a leave of absence from these boards and not kept up with the phones available these days so I am requesting suggestions for solidly performing phones. The most important features I require are reception, voice quality and second display. Other features I would like include; multiple entries per name, voice dialing, pre...

my personal opinion, go with the vx6100. I own that phone, and as a VZW CS rep, I have heard multiple horror stories about the v710, it suffers a lot of manufacturer defects, which is a pain. I know from both personal and professional experience that the 6100 is dependable. though you may want to consider the LG VX8100 which is releasing the 11th. it is 199.99 base price with 2 year renewal, add the $50 MIR and the NE2 discount, and you have a VERY nice phone for $50. might be worth considering. the specs are all on this site, check it out 😛 the one advantage(in my view) that the v710 had over the 6100 is bluetooth, but the 8100 has that too, as well as an mp3 player and more.

that is interesting information thanks!

what about the moto E815? Is the video resolution any good? With PC sync it sounds as if I would not need additional software like phone tools to sync up with my PC.

Pros and cons of each comparable. I have read the specs.

the e815's main appeal, in my eyes at least, is the battery life. it's almost twice as long as the 8100. but I REALLY want that 512mb of memory and the mp3 player, and I like the 8100 better overall, AND I'm a loyal LG customer, so I may be a bit biased. I don't like Moto's newer phones at all, they seem to have wwwaayyyy too many problems

You've got to be joking. The 6100 is a piece of garbage compared to the 710. The two most FRU'd out phones have to be the 6100 and the Mot V265. They're both ****.

I just purchased the VX6100 yesterday and signed up for new service, from the little time I've used it I really like it (even though it's for a present for my mom and after today it's going bye bye). However, The store I went to yesterday was so busy that the manager actually came out on the floor and was helping me, but when it came time to buy, there were several other reps around and as much as they shouldn't have, they trashed the V710 lol. Said I definately made the right choice...hope so 🙂

RUN back to the store and get the 710. I am proof that the 710 is far far superior.

I had the 6100 because the 6000 I had prior was a good phone. I too had heard about all the problems with the 710. After having absolutely the worst time with reception, I returned the 6100 for a replacement. I was thinking it was either a bad phone or not the most updated software. The tech at the store replaced the phone and made sure I had the latest software. The 6100 still dropped calls on major highways. Also, sure the analog is nice, but completely useless. Both 6100's would drop into analog often. What made things even worse, the only way for me to get them out of analog was to turn off and turn on.

After reading about the 710 awesome...

you're kidding, right? I work for verizon, and I hear not NEARLY as many customer service complaints about the 6100 as about the v710. I also have no problems at all with reception, it definitely could just be your local area.

Could be and i am not here to say anyone is wrong. BUT I travel from ann arbor michigan to fort wayne indiana. I have gone major highway I-94 and poor signal. I have gone south to the ohio and indiana turnpike and there were times where I would go 20 miles with only analog. If I did not think about the cost, I would have thrown the 6100 out the window.

Now when I use both MAJOR highways, I can talk the whole way and have never dropped a call or looked at my phone without service.

As I said before, I am not in the cell phone game of best features. I dont even use the bluetooth feature of the 710. All I know is the phone is the best RF phone I have ever had. Last count was 11 cell phones. Again take or leave it.
