i would like to get a new phone. I have had my phone for about 9 months and i would like a new one. Verizons website says you can upgrade to a new phone at any time, but my dad says he called verizon and you have to wait till like 22 months into your contract, but i dont think that is correct. Can anyone please give me information about this because i would really like to get a new phone.

any info is appreciated
thanx

Alrighty.

Basically if you are signed into a 2-year agreement, you can do an early upgrade about 22 months into your agreement. The requirement is that you must be on a $49.99 or higher rate plan or switch to one.

If you are signed into a 1-year agreement.. hmm.. I don't deal much with 1 year agreements but I *think* you can upgrade at the 10 month mark for an early upgrade..

Upgrading a new phone will renew either a 1 or a 2 year agreement.

You can buy a new phone before your upgrade date but you must pay the FULL price of the phone. Averag full retail price on a phone goes or about $199-$500 depending on model.

Hope this helps!

Sorry for being hard-headed, but does that mean that you can not upgrade your phone (when on a 2-year contract) until 22 months into it? Or... does that mean you just have to pay extra..?

It means at the 22 month in your 2 year contract.. you can purchase a new phone at the upgrade price. Unfortunately you can't upgrade your phone at the upgrade (read reduced) price before that monthly mark.

Some of the phones will be the SAME price on a 2-year upgrade renewal so you will win out if you select one of them.

Don't worry about being hard-headed. Everyone has questions and we on the forums have the answers for ya!
