Does it suck to work for Verizon?
I had heard that some employees went on strike not to long ago about pay issues.......is this information correct?? Are there any good benefits? Do you get a free phone with free service? Thanks

Good questions. I'm considering working for a Verizon direct store. Can anyone comment on pay? How much do you normally make? Is it commission-only or commission and hourly? Does it depend on hitting your quotas?

I work indirectly for verizon, so I can't answer your questions about pay, because a direct store is different.
From what I've heard as a 'sales' employee for a verizon direct store, you are given an unreachable goal/QUOTA, if you hit half of that quota you get a bonus, the bonus goes up depnding how close to your quota you actually get.
As far as pay it depends on your experiance and skills, as with any job, they could start you off on a base running anywhere from $20,000-30,000+ with potential 'spiff' earnings.
With that said, if you have roughly 2 years experiance or so and know what you're doing they will probably offer you around $22,000-24,000 base salary with commission.

Where did you come up with this stuff???? It is so far off, it boggles my mind. Quotas for not unattainable, they are actually pretty easy. I have seen reps hitting 150% of quota and even higher. Top sales reps will make over $100,000/year. A good sales rep will make $60,000/year.
