Roaming Agreements with Cingular

Mendel

anyone know if there are any roaming agreements with cingular* in north jersey?
or any in the near future?

* I allways heard they shared towers, which made no sense to me, since they are a diffrent networks, my guess is, they share the piece of land that its on, and both have their own anttena's.

is there any truth to that? and if yes, are there any updates on North Jersey (07960)

Mendel -

Verizon and Cingular use two totally different technologies. Other than CDMA regional companies, Sprint is the only carrier Verizon could roam to, as far as I know.

Well said mitchell. Not to mention barryefau seems to be under the misguided assumption that GSM cannot roam analog. And also, barry, you fail to see that I distinguished between regional and rural carriers, and national carriers.

One wonders if barryefau was around when all there WAS was analog. Or if he's aware that GSM evolved from TDMA, which evolved from analog just as CDMA did. 🙂

Most GSM phones DONOT have AMPS on it. Only GAIT phones have it and not all of them have it. (GAIT= GSM and TDMA and sometimes AMPS)

WHAT?!?!?! According to you PP GSM doesn't roam into analog since God Cingular is everywhere with digital GSM coverage and only the inferior evil VZW does analog across 90% of the areas they cover.

Yeah, that's sarcasm, and yeah it is exagerration also. This is how you have made things seem in the past.
