I've had a v710 since last august and for the most part liked it. However they have replaced it 2 times so far and now the new replacement i just received is doing the same thing the old one was, which is rebooting when trying to send messages or read them and last night started doing it while trying to answer the phone. Tech said that they couldn't duplicate the problem and can't replace it again. Id rather have the new e815 but I'm not paying full price again, they cant do an early upgrade (not that i would like to pay for this) and they wont replace it until tech says so. What do i do??

710 is just that type of phone. My phone would reboot when only sending MMS but later then stopped. Some one here posted there's would ring and would not stop and I thank them for sharing that info becasue since I read that, my phone did it for the 1st time.

talk to a different tech. and keep talking to different ones until you get someone willing to help you. also, if you're going to a store, don't. call customer service (18009220204) from another phone. you might get a bit different answer

On the West coast we have a multi FRU replacement policy. Its basically three strikes and your out, that is 1-your original phone, 2-replacement phone, and 3-another replacement phone, then you can get an upgrade to a new phone of VZW choosing. So call the store and politely ask for the manager and see if he/she can authorize a multi fru replacement. If they don't know what you are talking about then call customer service and ask them if they can process it for you. Politeness gets you everything.

I just got my V710 2 months ago..and wish I had gone with a different phone!!! My phone will send me the same text message over and over again and not send me my new ones. I usually have to turn my phone off for a couple hours, and then the problem is fixed. I also will be unable to recieve or make outgoing calls, and then again I have to turn off my phone for a couple of hours and the problem is fixed. Considering this is my only phone, it's quite irritating. I haven't gotten my phone replaced, but do you think I could get a replacement? And is the replacement going to be a refurb? (I wouldn't want a refurb) Should I go to a store, or call over the phone?

Thank you!

I would call in with the problem, they should replace it without any problems. But your replacement WOULD be a refurb, as you are out of your "return" policy.

I just went through this with them on Friday. There are very little V710 refurbs available. So they ended up shipping me an e815 free of charge (just had to give up my NE2), it should arrive tomorrow since they had no V710's available and I have already gone through 8 of them.

That is the best of both worlds. I get to keep my V710 and have an e815 free. They will both work because all my 710 needs is a software update. It was just that no store in my area had the Data Cable to do it.

If there is a store within a reasonable distance (60 miles) a CSR probably won't mail you a replacement. They aren't supposed to at least.

As for the new phone, you seem to have done well. I'm not so sure about you keeping the old phone though. I'm pretty sure even on a multi-fru exchange you still have to send back the "broken" phone.

No, they don't want the V710 back. They just used my NE2 early and let me get the E815 as a customer accomodation, since none of the stores in my area had any FRU V710's and they also did not have the data cable to upgrade my software.
