No exact time frame on the v710 release. The rumor is that possibly by the middle or end of summer. I know we are expecting to release 7 or 8 new phones by the end of the this year.

Motorola's official site has a contest for the first 710 people to register the phone. Here's the deal:

"the contest ends July 10, 2004"

Now, you can't have a contest that ends without the product being out and able to be registered can you? Nope. You sure can't.

So, by their contest rules, that means the phone should be out before the end of that contest, possibly at least a month or two before it ends to give people a chance to register.

Hi,
Let me explain my situation.
I own a Samsung A-310 since last year.
Yes, I admit I have dropped it a few times, but I don't want to buy another phone just yet because I'm waiting for a Motorola phone to come out.
However now I'm thinking about switching because I have so many dropped calls and horrible reception. In my school I see people with T-Mobile phone talking and I can't get a signal.
I called customer service and I did the update but that didn't work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Is it my phone that's bad or what?
I live in NYC by the way.

You have to ask yourself a few questions. Did the phone work well before you dropped it? Is it under warranty? If the above is yes, exchange it.

Hello,

Recently alot of customers I have sold the 310 to have had some problems.

Try taking the phone to a corporate store, (find this at verizonwireless.com) NOT A DEALER, the location must have a service center. Ask them to do a firmware update on your phone, it should take them about 45 mins.

If the above does not help I recommend picking up an LG-VX10 or a Motorola T731 on Ebay. You then can do a simple ESN swap.

Good Luck 🙂

No Verizon doesn't have the best coverage in all areas. They do however have the best overall coverage. T-mo just scored highest reception score with least proped calls is LA. Verizon was 3rd i belive. In NYC T-mo is second. Belive it or not ATT got the highest score in NYC. Verizon scored 3rd there aswell. Just to reiterate Verizon has the most reliable nation wide network overall; But depending on where you live a competitor maybe work out better for you. 😉

Can you quote where you are getting the data for those rankings? I just checked the internet and could only find a recent consumer reports story on LA and it puts VZN tops in customer satisfaction but doesnt mention coverage. A web link would be greatly appreciated.

Consumer Reports Feb 2004 issue is the one where they tested cell phones and VZW was rated #1 in all of the twelve cities that they tested. You cannot view this report online unless you sign up for a consumerreports. com subscription. I would ask around if any feinds or family have a subscription and use their log ons. Or find the issue of the magazine.
