What happened to the old navigation on my Galaxy S3 it's gone it's been updated with a new one that's terrible.

Google updated maps, if that's what you mean. They combined the two halves of that program (Maps and Nav) into one. If you don't like it, you can uninstall that update and get it back. Go to the aps section in settings, find the program, and click uninstall. That will revert it for you.
