So I called Verizon the other day

to get a new phone and new 2yr contract. Since I was on an old National Single Rate plan going to AC they said, "We'll have to mail you a contract. You then sign it, return it to us and then we send you your new phone."

I think - OK, it'll be in the mail tomorrow, I'll have it by end of week and back to them - and I'll have my phone by the end of next week - give or take a couple of days.

So it comes to Saturday (day 4 after calling VZW) and no contract. I call VZW and they say, well of course you don't have it - we only send mail out on Saturdays. WHAT????

first of all - that was never mentioned in the original call. I may have changed my mind and endured the wait and idiots at a b&m VZW store.

second - WTF? Verizon only send...

That's, that's a bummer, man. Did you consider going into a store? I think they have some extra contracts lying around in a drawer somewhere. You can sign one right then and they'll give you a phone right then!

I haven't heard of the scenario you've described before. We can capture an electronic signature through our automated system on two-year contracts. I don't believe this is the standard way we do things. Perhaps you pissed off the rep and this is their way of getting you back?

well if you lived in the ny city area you'd probably rather call in for your upgrades too. Would have done it online but since my existing plan is phased out, I HAD to call in - maybe its so the reps could try to upsell me some services I didn't want or need?? Couldn't be a VZW software issue could it?

Anyway - you obviously ignored the section of my post where I said I didn't want to go into the store and you can cut the sarcastic crap too (thats, thats a bummer man)

Typical of the service level and attitude of VZW employees (actually not all of them, but certainly the typical reaction when criticism of VZW is levelled)...

go back to work, dude!

Yes, I did skim through your rant. My conclusion remains the same however. I can also assure you that if you called in and spoke to me about it, you'd get nothing but a professional attitude out of me, with a willingness to help you out. It's my day off, though, and this post isn't being monitored gor Quality™, so I don't give a f**k. Shocking, I know.
