Either phone is a champ, basically. The A530 is digital only, but I'm not one of those people who tells customers YOU HAVE TO BUY A TRIMODE PHONE. I think people have been programmed to tell customers that, but for most people it really doesn't matter, and it will matter even less very soon. Verizon is moving away from offering any trimode phones at all, at least that is how it looks to me. Plus I have heard that Verizon doesn't do any maintenence on their analog towers and that the FCC is going to make them shut them down entirely within a couple of years.
