Hello, everyone!

I currently have an lG VX8000 and am having some problems with it. I was wondering what would happen if i went back to the store and they exchanged the phone for me. Would they give me the 8100 or the 8000? I know they used to do that because when I had a moto t720 and it broke, instead of giving me that one, they gave me a refurbished t730, which was the newer model at the time.

Considering that the 8100 just came out, i think its highly unlikely that i would get that phone, so i was wondering how long i would have to wait to have my 8000 replaced by an 8100. It is still on vzw's website, so I guess it hasn't been discontinued. Im not in a huge rush to get my phone fixed because I am leaving in a few days and t...

If you are having an issue that is covered by the manufactures warranty then you will be given the same model number of phone that you currently have. The ONLY way to upgrade is to wait until the end of your contract or buy the phone you want at full retail.

Thats what I thought...but then why did they give me the upgraded moto t730 when this happened last time? And yes, i know, the only way to get a new one is to pay full retail or wait 10 months for my contract to end.

Did Verizon make an excpetion with the t720 because it had so many problems and bugs? Is that why they gave me a t730?

They may have not had a 720 available at the time so they gave you a 730. Also if you ever do an insurance claim, your original phone may no longer be available so you will get a phone of equal feature, possibly an upgrade. For example most customers that do a claim on a LG6000 will get a LG6100 or Samsung 670. It just depends on what they have at the time.

With the t720, i did not have insurance, it was just under the warantee period. Thats really strange! Well, I'll have to go to the store in august and see what they say.

there were too many issues with the 720 that motorola themselves actually made the call to give the 730 as a field replacement.

that's not going to happen with the 8000.

I dont know, my 8000 has a LOT of problems 😢 . I dont remember if they were as bad as my t720, but whatever. I've been through so many Lg 8000's..this is going to be my 4th in the last month. Although I've been reading that the 8100 has just as bad reception problems as the 8000.

People that say lgs have good recpetion must be new to VZW and coming over from a horrible network like tmobile! My friend has a 7000 which gets a little better reception, but not much better. Also, i looked online at the SAR levels of this phone, and they were quite high for an extendable antenna. Very high compared to the moto e815.

I actually was walking by the store in my local mall and tried out the e815, and now i can actually use the keypa...

You can receive the 8000 but if it still has the same problem after multiple swaps then you can argue for the 8100 and may very well get it.

They have a responsibility to provide you with a non-defective phone of similar type. If all of the 8000 are defective then they will no longer have a chlice, but they are not obligated to just give you the 8100 unless the 8000 are defective.

I've learned the FRU's of a phone model stay around forever. Chances are an 8000 FRU will be around for a long time!
