Go to Sprint, we already have enough annoying customers at Verizon.

There's your answer.. The above reply is typical of a VZW Employee..

To Answer your question?? Why VZW... Not for the price... Not for Customer Service... Not for the phones... It is for the coverage... If you don't mind being fee'd to death... And don't mind dealing with the 'vzw_achiever' idiots... And don't mind all the charges... But need coverage.... Then go with VZW..

I have been a happy customer with Verizon for almost two years. Whenever I have had a CS issue I always get satisfaction withing minutes of me calling. Sure, you may not get bonus minutes like T-Mobile throws out or $10 credit just because you don't have service (T-Mobile) but Verizon will actually look up your text messages and get it now charges and let you know what you have done. To answer your question about Sprint: you can go to Sprint but you have to pay for roaming (which by the way roams on the Verizon network) and they charge you for everything. Verizon has the best coverage even though they don't have the best phones.

The question was why Verizon. You idiots (the people on here who claim to represent VZW) sit at a desk all day with nothing better to do but ridicule customers who have viable questions.

The answer to your question is if Data is more important than anything then Verizon is definitely the right carrier for you. With the launch of our hi-speed network not only will you get the the best content available but also at amazingly fast speeds. Go with a v-cast phone (if your in a v-cast service area) and check it out the quality and sound on the videos is spectacular.

Verizon is the best overall carrier on coverage and either the best or 2nd best in Customer Service (depending on which report you view: Consumer Reports or JD Power & Assoc.)

Having said that, no carrier has coverage everywhere and none of the carriers even come close to perfect ratings on their customer service.

I have some occasional problems with Verizon (very rare), but not nearly the number that friends and colleagues of mine have with Sprint, Cingular/AT&T, and Nextel. The only close comparison is T-Mobile in my estimation, but coverage is their biggest drawback.

Hope this helps.

Yup, nobody beates Verizon for coverage and CS. With EVDO hitting it is going to get even better for data. VZW's normal web plans sucked. $5 a month and it costs you minutes. Sprint charges $15 per month for unlimited vision. Now with V-Cast you get the same unlimited data just like Sprint for the same $15 per month but you get it at EVDO speeds. Win/Win situation. I have been with Verizon since day 1, I was with them when they were Airtouch and changed over to Verizon, I was with them when they were Cellular One and changed to Airtouch. I am in my 14th year with the same number and same carrier (except for changeovers) so they must be doing something right to keep me for this long.

To add to that situation with verizon’s ev-do service it has been getting quite a huge subscriber base and signups and I think that will continue, as more content will be on the Vcast product. I also want to see the other providers start to introduce high-speed data such as DO and umts/hsdpa and to offer many nice data products. As I have been mentioning it is all about the data, and the evidence by the increasing of DATA arpu and the very high interest in verizon’s DO proves my point, especially because this market will be saturated soon and DATA Arpu would be vital in this industry.

I like the reputation that Verizon has with coverage. But i think their plans are pricey. I am a T-Mobile customer and I am considering going to Verizon when my contract is up in December.

I've beeb a Verizon customer for over 6 years, having renewed for another 2 years recently.
Each time when renewal time comes, I evaluate the other carriers and their prices. I go to the stores, and test out all the phones there, and call my own voice mail to test call quality. I even signed up for Cingular service on a prepaid basis with a 6 month old phone given to me by a friend. Unquestionably, the best service I've tried is Verizon. Both call quality and customer service far surpass Cingular. And Sprint has the worse call quality, even in my own local area, Chicago. Price-wise, Cingular and Verizon are almost the same for voice services on nationwide plan. T-mobile and USCC were somewhat cheaper. The only service that came close to...

I hear you loud and clear. I'm kind of disappointed in T-Mobile because I have had outages in my area (NYC) at least three times. I heard nothing but good things about Verizon. My cousin just switch from Cingular to Verizon and she likes the service. Once December 17 hits, I will switch to Verizon.

Verizon is the most people-centered business I have ever encountered. You can count on them to view you as a best friend - not revenue. You will always receive respect and honesty. I've had Sprint - can't even describe how bad their service is. Cingular has more FCC complaints than any other carrier.

I think Verizon is a good company, it is just that their plans are too expensive for my tight budget, and I don't really like thier phones. I have T-Mobile, but coverage is not an issue for me, since I am in Chicago. Plus I have a wonderful phone and a cheap plan. I like T-Mobile first, then Verizon, and Cingular, and Sprint being last. If you are late by one day with your payment, Sprint threatens to disconnect your service. How rude?!

Very interesting, and yes I would tend to agree with you on the statement that you have brought up. I mean you pay for service, and if you pay top dollar you expect to get a ROI.

Ok. First the customer said they are a light user...so the high speed data things are probably out of the equation.

There are three rules:

1) Most important...coverage
2) Budget
3) Bucket of minutes.

If multiple cell carriers can fulfill the first rule...then compare 2 and 3 to what the competeting carriers have to offer.

I can say that VZW does treat their customer very well. I have/am sold other carriers and no what what fees VZW might put on, they are light in comparison to other vendors. Also, they do educate very well and will help with correcting errors and making sure the error doesn't repeat itself.

Lastly, ask people you know that have cell phones. Get their imput. Also as a rule, just like Olympic events, thro...

DONT SIGN-UP WITH VERIZON!!!!
Besides the fact that the customer service is severely lacking and the employees at the veerizon stores just dont care.... If you have any problems with your phone just go in to the nearest store because that is what the support folks will tell you to do over the phone. When you go to the store bring a book because there will be a long line of folks with many problems and only one servie tech who is busy trying to get phone numbers and make his lunch order(at least in the two stores I have frequented in Chesapeake Va). Recently the towers went down for some reason, 3 of my neighbors have verizon and we all called in with someone elses cell phone that had a better carrier, and were given 3 different reasons f...

Here is what I figured out after looking at others and mine

1. Coverage you cannot get like VZ
2. Customer Service Representative, who ever pick your phone they are good then previous one. It feel you peace of mind.
3. Sate of the art technology, they invest lot in technology to keep you on latest technology
4. First to try like Digital service, 3G, International coverage etc.
5. $100 every two year, with $100 you get very nice phone without spending too much bucks
6. A reliable company with strong management, look at their stock, valuation, yeild on investment etc, they will never out of business.

Hope this helps.

I'd answer your question, except for the fact that you, big j, appear to be a troll:

So why didya post this same msg in all the major carrier forums? To get a work up on the main selling points of the reps of all major carriers, so you could sell against them?

Man, this place never ceases to amaze.

My original intention was to go with Verizon. I had always heard bad things about Cingular in California.
I posted a question on this forum asking what phone I should get. When I returned, it took forever to find responses because of the constant fighting and bickering between people. Nonetheless, I decided to check out the phones that were recommended. Upon visiting the store, I was informed that they had neither phone. The salesman showed me other phones and even let me demo his personal phone for it was a Motorola v710. It wasn't very loud but it sounded pretty clear. I declined and went to the radioshack because they sell verizon there. They also lacked the phones I was seeking. They told me I could order it.
So, last night, I got on ...

Did you even read the links in the post I wrote? Guess not.

The upshot is, the guy asking questions wasnt a customer looking for information. He was likely a cingular rep trying to get inside info on how to sell against the reps of all the other carriers. Its not an original idea either, Ive seen a few people do it before. And y'know, its pretty simple to figure this stuff out- you just click on a persons name, and you can see their posting history.

Im sorry youre not going with Verizon, but really if you misunderstanding one guy on a forum is enough to change your mind, you werent interested to begin with. And its not like VZW is gonna miss ya- theyre doing great.

So ciao baby, we'll just make due without ya. You should go to cingu...
