Just a note....
Verizon doesn't release new phones.. They wait until they are outdated... Once other carriers discontinue their phones, Verizon picks them up at a discounted price, Jacks up the sell price and sells outdated, and usually defective phones...

Verizon has traditionally taken a little on the long side to release new phones. However, they have recently announced that they will be making new efforts to bring it's subscribers new technology. They are planning on introducing roughly 7 new phones this summer. I have never had a defective phone from Verizon and if there were any problems their customer support was superior.

Just a note... Many of the phones released by Verizon have serious defects... Probably because Verizon makes massive software changes to the phones... The Samsung T300 would lock on a PRL Update... Oooopppsss... Kyocera 3035 would not show the message waiting indicator... Motorola T720 was defective out of the box... The phone was severely delayed while other carriers were selling the phone... Only Verizon had the issues of the phone locking up... The audiovox 8900 pulled imediately after release... That is just off the top of my head.. Verizon claims to test these phones, but the phones are far inferior to the competition... But yes, it is customer service (or the ability to at least talk to someone) an the network that keeps us..

Alright. I cant remember nor do I know where the vzw lab is where we put software in the phones? As far as I can recall the actual phone companies produce the phones to fit each wireless carriers technology. The Motorola T720 was defective for all CDMA carriers not just vzw.
And for technology, I dont see any other CDMA carriers preparing to release ev-do. Nor are they investing as much as vzw on network on a monthly basis like vzw does.

I'd echo this. Customer service is excellent w/ Verizon...they've made bill adjustments when I thought I was wrongly charged for things, etc - Sprint was terrible in comparison. BTW, TMobile was pretty good too. But their service is definitely the best. I haven't owned a ton of their phones, but the three I've had (LG 6000, LG4400, Samsung A310) have all been great. And I've had to return multiple phones for defects to both Sprint and TMobile, so in comparison I'd say Verizon's phones are better.
