Looks pretty good for the top 3 carriers in the United States with total subscribers and sub growth for the 1st and second quarter and I will continue to look for this growth in the future. You forgot to add in the 1.9 million new subs from this quarter. Verizon actually has 47.4 million customers now. From RCRNews:
The growth was significantly higher than the 1.1 million customers added by larger rival Cingular Wireless L.L.C. during the quarter and pushed Verizon Wireless' total customer base to 47.4 million subscribers at mid-year.

I think you also forgot to add in cingulars 2Q new adds as well. Theyre at 51.5 million customers or so now.

I just noticed now, since I was at class, that I have an error with the total subscribers at the end of the 2nd quarter I forgot to add verizon’s and cingular’s numbers with their 2nd quarter numbers, and I apologize.
It should read as follows;
Vzw= 47.4 million
Cingular= 51.6 million
The new S (sprintel) = 44.71 million
The sub growth per quarter stays the same.
So that means verizon is about 2.69 million ahead of sprintel and 4.2 million behind cingular, while sprintel is 6.9 million subscribers behind cingular.

Has anybody noticed that when you click on the Carriers link (fifth one down in the blue column at the left), the top row of individual carriers is Cingular - Verizon - Sprint. The second row is T-Mobile - Nextel - Alltel. I searched the whole list of sixteen carriers and couldn't find anything called "sprintel", "sprint/nextel" or nextel/sprint". Strange!
