The old school phones had quality, they are like drop me beat me kick me phones. The newer ones, maybe the assembly lines smoke crack or something? You're paying a lot for a brand name and the quality isn't what it used to. As far as the previous remark about the menu's being harder, that's true, Motorola phones aren't for the average cell user really. Personally, I don't care much for them, I've always been a Kyocera fan. I've taken them snowboarding, knee boarding, a trip in the washing machine, and dropped it off the back of my jeep onto the road pulling out of my drive. The phone is like Timex, it takes a licking but keeps on ticking. I had the 3035 last and the phone looks like WW3 on the outside but the battery life is still awe...

Motorola has always been a work horse and they still are. The problem with Motorola now is not their hardware (except the charge ports) but their software. Every Motorola phone that has been released in the last few years has had some sort of software problem right out of the box. And then 5 or 6 upgrades are released before all of the problems are taken care on. I am not sure that the 720 is right yet. I still believe in Motorola even though phones like the LGs are running circles around them. Motorola is going to be releasing several new phones in the near future and I think with software improvements Motorola will be back up to par and once again the ones to beat.

In my opinion Motorola is going to be guilty until proven innocent. You are certainly correct about their software problems, but you give them too easy of a pass on their charging port problems. I hope you are correct that the newest phones that they will bring out will bring Moto back to where they were - but I for one will not give them a pass - they will have to prove something. I hear customer frustrations with these phones all the time. They think just because their old Moto phone was good that a new one will be just as good. Needless to say they often come back disappointed. I will say that the new v60S seems to be better, but the menu and the charging system still are horrible.

And that legacy is going right down the toilet with each subsequent new release. Now don't get me wrong...I may not like Motos, but I WANT Moto to succeed as a company. I'm looking forward to their new phones as well. I'd even buy a v60s or v120 on Verizon's network based on first hand experience with each model...but I'd sooner use the t720/730 as a paperweight. And just what IS up with Moto's charging ports? I've popped the charger tip into two t730's, taken it out, and the damn things say they're still charging? You have to pop the battery out and back in to fix this little problem. Ugh.

Motorola charging ports have been a problem for a long time even back to the days of the startac. However according to a represenative of Mot. they are now attaching them to the board differently and are making them stronger. I have yet to see a V60s come in with a charging port problem that wasn't just dirty.
