Okay, let's settle this once and for all...the myth that Verizon has "crappy" phones that can't hold a candle to devices like T-Mobile's Sidekick and Cingy's RazR...
Why is this? Well, I'm sure that any Cingular rep will tell you (and while we're on the subject, what the hell are you doing on the VZ forum???) is that CDMA is incapable of providing a wafer thin phone, and that VZW probably gets off on having bulky phones.
The truth? VZW tests their phones in three separate stages to make sure that the phone will be able to *gasp* MAKE AND HOLD A PHONE CALL!!!! This is why it took so long for the Treo 650 to show up on the sales floor, this is why the RazR, which in my opinion is an over-rated toy with horrible battery life and a very fli...

It depends on what you're looking for...I use the LG8000, and outside of an initial problem with the display (which was remedied with a simple warranty swap), it's been a great phone (clear call quality, easy to use, lound ringtones). If you want to Bluetooth, the 8100 is a great alternative to the 815, but the jury is still out on how well it really performs. Both the 8000 and 8100 have exterior buttons which will allow you to check text messages are answer the phone (with a headset plugged in) without having to flip the phone open.

Well if your LG8000 had a problem with the display and you had to get it swapped out, and another person is getting annoyed with the echo on their e815, it sounds to me like those three stages of testing were well worth it! 🤣 You don't think that other wireless companies rigorously test their handsets? Get real. 🙄

Same old song and dance.

1. Phone testing 1,2 ,3
2. Its just a phone...no need for pics and any other "junk" Yet The single biggest complaint from Verizon customers have to do with phones and selection...go figure.

many are creaming to get the old News Razor which many have since gotten rid of for the next big thing.

Soon there will be no phone makers supplying VZ. Only companies like Audio Vox and Daewoo, and all the other drug store electronic brand names....

Also, don't forget, the leading country in phone technology (Korea) just happens to run off of the same technology as verizon.... interesting.

Was it branded for VZW use? I had heard rumblings that it was coming out, but I figured that it was BS...usually, it'll show up on Info Manager prior to having a dummy released....

The reason that Verizon doesn't recieve ground-breaking and innovative devices first is not because of their testing. The reason Verizon gets the last of the goodies is because phone manufacturers are ready and willing to serve the GSM market before CDMA. Why? Because GSM dwarfs CDMA in worldwide usage, so it only makes sense to supply the greater demand.
