While I have been a fan of Motorla phones, I have always been puzzled about the poorly thought out recharging connector. On the other hand, the Nokia connector is simple, always works, and is better in every way that I can tell. I came across this link from John Dvorak's column that talks about this issue. Any comments would be appreciated.
Great article. I have often wondered why such disparity in types of connectors. Also, the same can be said about storage media. I won't buy a Sony digital camera because of the proprietary Memory Stick. I don't own anything else that would be compatible with.
After I started this string, I realized that I should have posted it to a more general phone forum or a motorola forum. I happen to be a Verizon user and prefer motorola phones (or a good nokia if one should ever become available for this carrier) and am very interested in the incompatibility issue.
