Whaa-at? You really think that every single person who wanted Verizon and went to Radio Shack to get it and got told 'No, sorry, no Verizon here' is going to go, 'Ok then, sell me sprint or cingular instead'? C'mon, get real.

No, a lot of 'em are gonna go 'Ok then, sorry bye' and go over to best buy or circiut city or a corp store. No Radio Shack isnt going to hurt verizon near as much as you figure.

Not to mention all the customers radio shack pissed off that could have left Verizon after dealing with them. At least once or twice a day I have to deal with a pissed off customer that bought their phone at RS and when they went back with a problem they blew them off or said they couldn't do anything. This wasn't just one store either, its been at least 4 or 5 different ones. This also makes me laugh when I see RS commercials that say they are rated #1 in customer satisfaction of wireless retailers.

I couldnt be happier that radio shack is not going to be affiliated w/ verizon anymore... thats numerous less p!ssed off customers we have to deal with... Of all indirect agents we deal with Radio Shack is by far the store that gets the most complaints.

Poor Cingular... they will soon feel the pain that verizon has delt with for so long 🤣

The pains of getting 500,000 new customers every quarter will be tough to deal with, but Cingular will do it's best to cope.

And of course they get more complaints than your other retailers... they sell twice as many phones as the other indirect dealers.

i wish radio shack would have sold 500,000 phones for verizon every quarter.

then i'd be sorry they were gone.

I listened to the Radioshack webcast of the conference call press release. Very interesting. The three RS bigwigs busted it out pretty simply.
They said under the 'previous wirless agreements', they got 9 million gross adds a year. Which comes to 2.25 m gross adds a quarter. At least half of those were Verizon adds. They also pointed out that the 'average' ratio of sales per quarter was 52% Carrier/48% Radioshack. So yeah, bro they sell some phones. They project to get 16 million a year under the new agreements. They also stated that they will be able to make up lost resi...

Those aren't 'my words', jake. Those are Radioshacks numbers. Listen to the webcast. Those are the numbers they give. They also say that is the 'average' between the carriers. Each carrier varies.

Yes Al, but what I'm obviously saying is that they don't seem to jibe with the numbers Verizon gives. I'll leave it to readers to decide which set of numbers is closer to the truth.

I've also figured out how young you must be. To even suggest that losing/gaining Radioshack as a wireless retailer won't effect the business is just naive.

You might have a point... if I suggested that Radio Shack will have *no* impact. I haven't. What I did say is that R...

And when the local Chevy dealership went down, I suppose that the Chevy sales for our area went down too? Nope. Instead the other remaining dealers went up.

Will it hurt sales overall? Remains to be seen. I am sure there will be some sales lost. But then, I am looking forward to my sales going through the roof since they were my only competition (except for web and tele sales).

So glad to see Radio Shack leave!! We get more complaints from customers who went to RS than any other outlet. Will only serve to increase our already outstanding satisfaction rate!

Im for one am quite glad radioshack is leaving. i was sick and tired of getting calls where a cust sets up a five line fam share and the shack employee sets the promo code to something like 2 year. Then they don't get in calling allowance and theres a 700 dollar first bill... and who has to fix it...not radio shack.

I think it's going to be awesome for me as a Verizon agent. RadioShack is going to try and pull everyone over to Cingular now. Chances are they will hate it and want to come back to Verizon. They can't do it at RadioShack so they will come to people like us... more activations! YAY! LOL

If half of the people who spoke actually worked at radio shack.. we where 1 of there biggest sellers and not only that we where also the most limited by verizon on what things we could sell and promos we didn't get, the new every two to offer so yes there are a lot of things that we couldn't do but don't get pissed off at radioshack for it that is all vzws thing there not radio shack we tried to get the equal share of things, we didn't get to do early upgrades, and among other things so being the most limited and the best selling i would say that says a lot considering our store could make or break the verizon sales in our store between verizon or sprint but this may be just be our store. which makes it even better is the fact at baypark mal...

It is funny how you're a Verizon fan and that's what you will keep using, but you talk about transitioning your customers to other things. You don't think your tactics are the same as other peoples? Obviously you're going to have to stretch the truth to get people to switch from Verizon to Sprint or Cingular. But like I said, I bet many will switch and then come back and they won't be able to come back through you.

BTW, I own a Verizon Agent location. We have many of the same limitations that you at Radio Shack have. We are basically in the same situation.

the truth for cingular i wont stretch i wont sell it nearly as much as vzw. but then again they dont have nearly the coverage of what vzw has expecially up here. we will be able to sell sprint with the no roaming plans as well. they are actually no differant than vzw coverage wise. the only problem that they would have with sprint is customer service but we have the same abilitys the actual sprint stores have now that had just changed all the way to the instant rebates so it wont be to bad to transition. but as for cingular they just suck in this whole area.

ill even admit i tried cingular for 2 weeks just recently to see where all the coverage would be in my main traveling areas. on 3 differant phones and neither one of them had a solid...
