Is it possible to get a billing cycle changed?

InsuranceMan

My billing cycle currently begins on the 14th of the month. It's nothing critical, but I would prefer to have my cycle begin on either the 15th, or the 1st of the month, preferably the 1st. Is it possible to get this changed? Can I just call VZW customer service to accomplish this?

Thank you.

Sorry - no way to change it. It's set up this way so that there's not a large percent of people with billing cycles on the same date so that we don't overload our billing system...

It is actually possible to change your bill cycle date. It does create partial billing which would make the next bill slightly higher. We don't want to overload the billing system on any one day though. Why are you considering the cycle change?

They all seem to be on the same days of the month. I've noticed the 16th of the month is a really popular one. I've also seen like the 22nd and the 4th quite a bit.

You're probably just noticing them more, like in the movie Pi.

You SHOULD be able to change it, but the available days to start your cycle depend on your market and the policy on whether this can be done vary from region to region. As was stated in a previous post here, changing your cycle date would create partial billing... if you changed the cycle to be shorter in the month it was changed, you may see a smaller bill than usual on the next bill. If it extends the billing cycle in the month of the change, you will receive a prorated charge for the number of days extended plus your normal monthly bill, making it higher for that month. I hate to drive up calls, but the only way to know for sure what your options are on this matter are to call into customer service

I would really advise againt changing it. Just sign up for auto bill pay and make a reminder in your phone for every 12th to check your minutes and call if you need to change your plan.

It takes a crazy amount of work to even guess at what your next bill will look like and how many minutes you'd have and even then it's still probably wrong. I even work there and I want nothing to do with changing the billing date. I just tell people no since every sup I've asked has said not to do it.

Thanks for the advice. I may not attempt to change the date. I don't really care about how it would affect the size of my next bill, it would be more of a convenience thing for business accounting purposes. Nothing that's necessary, just something to make me happy.
