The article is talking about the new Wi-Fi enabled phones that can use VoIP, so VoIP calls can be made from any public hot spot. One question which immediately arises is how does locator services needed by 911 response operate in this scenerio?

GPS tracking is a good thing. So many people are paranoid. If my car gets stolen and one of my phones are in there. I have a good chance of getting it back. If I dial 911, my location will be pin pointed. I have nothing to hide so those dark glasses guy in the gov can "track" me all they want LOL.

Might be good technology to catch the bad guys as well.
