BUY IT - - Verizon style

When I was going to buy a phone from another provider, the salesperson had opened up the box in front of me. In it was the 1.phone 2.manual 3.power adapter 4.belt clip for phone.

With the near identical phone at Verizon I had the above 1 2 & 3.

But they would sell me a belt clip. 😲

How to make a buck. 🙂

Cingular does this as well. Alot of manufactures/carriers no longer give you holsters let alone headsets.

When I bought my i710 I had to buy a belt clip separately. Maybe it was just that model.

Some phones do still come with the holster. Pretty much any new ones coming out aren't though.

Being that Verizon doesn't make any of the phones, why are people blaming us? It's totally Best Buy's fault your Sony TV doesn't include component video cables and a lifetime warranty. DAMN THEM!

here is my thing! remember two years ago even three years ago! 299 for a motorola 720, 200-300 bucks for a v60 150 bucks for an lg510! The phones we are carrying now are much nicer and we sell them for 50 bucks after rebate!!!! If you would like i am sure Verizon wouldn't mind selling you a moto 265 for 199 dollars, they might through the clip in that way! We now carry color screen flip phones, even camera phones between free and $50! 2 years ago you couldn't even get a standard flip for less than 100 dollars so I really don't see the big deal, plus a majority of customers don't use the clip or end up purchasing a case anyway so they probably just thought of it as a waste and are concentrating more on keeping the cost down. Those things alwa...

I didn't want that plastic clip thingy anyway! Would of lasted maybe a week?

Just a comment on how they get you to "buy" something that was in the box for free. And free isn't always good.

It doesn't really matter anyway... As time goes by the crap thats included with the phone is going to get smaller and smaller... Phone, batt, trav charger, & manual, what else is there? Car charger $20, holster or leather dealie $25, data cable $40, faceplates (if applicable) $20...

Half of my customers dont even think they include travel chargers anymore. I'll ask if they would like a car charger and they buy one. Two days later they return because they didn't realize the phone came with a home charger.

actually the 265 had a sucky dull screen. The 276 is brighter and the camera has zoom...the i265 didn't.

Yup it's a good way for them to make a buck. I have the LG 8000. It didn't have a holster so no biggie, I bought one. Three months later the holster cracks right where it clips on to the phone on the top. Looking at the holster you can see other small cracks starting to form. I believe it's because it's made of a hard plastic, not as flexible as the ones for other phones I've had. I called Verizon which I hardly ever do because it's easier just not to deal with them. I love their coverage and their phones but have only gotten one decent rep ever. And I've only called four times in two and a half years. I also checked this web site before I called and there were people talking about how the manual says it comes with a holster and if ...

No one's responded to my post. But I did go in and buy a new holster because that's how I usually carry my phone and paying for it they asked for my cell number. What does it matter? Their not going to help me if that piece breaks and they already have all my info on my phone. So, I spent more money, am I therefore a more valuable customer. It's not like $16.99 is going to make a big differnce when I pay $140 a month for three phones already. They didn't help me before so why do they want that info. I could see if they were going to help but their not. They have the worst customer service. The service is great, but I hate any time I ever have to deal with them.

I went to Wal-Mart and got a pouch or holster that my LG4650 slides into. It said Samsonite was the maker. Comes in small, medium and large. I got the small. $8.00

Well What I do in my non corporate store is I warranty my items. Usally if its a OEM holster even an aftermarket the first one you break is on me then I charge you. But it also depends if you do business with me or not, I don't give stuff away for free but if it does break I make good on it, worse case I can always just charge cost to make a customer happy. But again I am not corporate so I can do what I please and I would say 99% of my customers go away happy..... well at least not pissed at me 😁
