the stupidity of the average customer is mind boggling.
another gem, customer brings phone in that wont turn on, u open the phone and show them VISIBLE LIQUID DRIPPING OUT OF THE PHONE and they start having a hissy fit saying our phones are crap and they NEVER got the phone wet.
or theres this all too common situation, retard A walks into the store, waits in line for literally about 85 seconds, gets out of line and walks up to one of us and starts yelling that he has been waiting in line for 35 minutes. retards B C and D then join in and claim they have been waiting an hour and demand we work faster. then u have retard E, the one your currently helping, asking you 4 million questions that they could find the answers to if they read the manual. retards A B C AND D finally get helped by a rep, and they proceed to ask the same retarded questions ad retard E. maybe we wouldnt have lines out the door if you people would read your manual and excercise a little common sense before bombarding us and the call centers with questions on how to save a contact, take a picture, change your ringer, turn ur phone on etc.
oh and am i the only one who realizes how retarded it is to demand some type of free phone or service because uve been a customer for a few years? do you call up the power or gas company and demand a free month of gas because uve used their utility for a few years? why would this be any different.
oh and ud think this would be obvious to anyone with a brain, but it clearly isnt since i get this at least 15 times a day, VERIZON HAS NO RESPONSIBLITY FOR YOU GOING OVER YOUR MINUTES, MSG ALLOWANCE, DATA ALLOWANCE, OR ANY OTHER USAGE CHARGE YOU INCUR IN YOUR BILL. when you sign up for service we tell you exactly how many minutes you have, how much msging costs when YOU choose not to add a data pack, how high your bill can be when YOU choose to go with pay as you go kb for our pda and pocket pc phones, and that the warranty does not cover YOU dropping, banging, losing, or getting your phone wet. VZW is not responsible for YOUR ignorance.

if you are a cali native or reside on the west coast, you may not know what Alltel is. Its a very large Regional carrier. Very large đ
BTW, what was NEXTEL thinking going after a customer base that the stereotypical race fan (credit anyone) in a sales environment that requires good payments. I can understand NASCAR with Beer and Cigarettes...you don't have to make monthly on time payments for that...no, you can let your kid starve because you spent all the money you had for that carton of Winstons and that case of Budweiser...you can't pay your cell bill because after beer and cigarettes you had to buy that tv dinner so your kid can eat. And then wonder why you have to pay deposits to get the service...
I was told Verizon will not sponcer a car because they said it was too much money. I heard about this, this year when talking about Nascar, Nextel and Alltel. I think cingular has a car too and sprint.
I do agree with you that MANY MANY MANY NASCAR fans fit the description that you described so colorfully, just keep in mind that not ALL of us NASCAR fans are that way. đ
Offroad racing or LeMans-style road racing, that I get, but NASCAR? No.
Maybe it's like fishing? An excuse to get drunk? đ
I actually enjoy fishing too.
I'm sure there are plenty of things that you enjoy that I dont get either.
NASCAR is the fastet growing sport in the world, with an average of 250,000 attendees per race.
There is a lot of things I enjoy about NASCAR such as rooting ofr specific drivers (Ricky Rudd) and rooting against others (Dale Jr.).
Now I do not think fishing should be considered a sport, but NASCAR is very demanding.
I recently saw the Dallas Cowboys take a few laps around the track of a NASCAR event, afterwardss they were worn out! They admitted it is much more physically demanding than they thought, they were very impressed at how physically demandng it was.
I really respect you "Jake" so lets not turn...

Take the Tour de France for instance. I love it, and follow it, and it's an incredibly demanding event (even more so than NASCAR or anything else you can probably name outside of ultramarathon events), yet some ppl find it boring because there's no ball involved.
Those ppl don't upset me, because I know that they either "don't get" bicycle racing, or that it's just a personal preference they have. Not everyone is going to like every sport.
I dont like watching the "Tour" because im not into it, I only know of 1 rider (the obvious). But im sure the feeling you get same feeling and excitement I do about watching NASCAR, so it is cool that we disagree, like you said, nobody likes everything. đ

i have worked for verizon as a salesman, tech, and cust service rep in about 4 diff stores. it seem slike every day the customers set new records in human stupidity and ignorance. its even more disturbing to see they are just as dumb when they post on this website, ive checked these forums here and there for a few months and some of the complaints ive read are nothing short of ridiculously stupid. you say us vzw reps are ****y? hmmm i suppose we should be nice to people who come in with an attitude demanding a free phone because we have 'ruined their life' because YOU dropped your phone in the water and we cant get your numbers out. and if you drop your phone, or get it wet dont come into the stor

But you really have to take a deeeeepppp breath and relax. If you don't like dealing with the public, find a different profession. I have always worked in environments that you deal with customers face to face, and it is the same for different industries. People today want free tickets.
Here is an example. A group of people filed a class action l...

That is what keeps me in retail. The number of customers that have brought me lunch, cookies, etc. I just had a customer that went to Korea for a couple weeks and bought me a McNabb jersey! I run into people in Walmart, at gas stations, when I am out at dinner that will say hi to me...given that I see thousands of people a year, I don't remember everyone, but they will remember me! Even by name. My wife is constantly impressed by the number of people that will be walking past our table at a resteraunt and say, ...
