I'm currently on the AC 450 minute plan. I understand that at any time during my billing cycle I can have the plan changed to 900 minutes, retroactive to the beginning of that billing cycle, without proration, at an added cost of $20 for the billing cycle. If I do that, I will be on the 900 minute plan for the next billing cycle, as well. Is it possible at any time during this next billing cycle to retroactively (to the beginning of this next billing cycle) return to the 450 minute plan and to be billed for only 450 minutes for the entire next billing cycle?
Thanks.

The short answer is no. Here's how it works. If you change to a higher price plan with more minutes it will be back dated to the beginning of the billing cycle. If you change to a lower price plan with less minutes, it will be either future dated to the beginning of the next billing cyle, or current dated. You can't backdate a change that goes down in minutes.

I take it then that at the time I increase my minutes for the current billing cycle that I can direct that my plan return to my lesser number of minutes, effective at the beginning of the next billing cycle. Is this correct?
Thanks.

That I'm not sure. I don't know how complex the billing system is or how much can be done at once. You may have to wait until the next billing cycle to make that change, but I'm not sure.

You can. I do this often for customers that are in a bind due to a family emergency or something. If you request a future dated change for your next bill cycle however, you can't get a change backdated for the next month again. This is because you already requested to be on the smaller plan for that month. Without this in place, people would just be on the 450 plan and change to the bigger one that fits them each month then get the smaller plan back, then repeat the next month.
...
How long before they can backdate another change then? Just skip a month? I'm not trying to cheat the system or anything, I'd just like to know for future reference with customers.

Just the next month. You could however call to get it changed on the first day of your cycle and still get a change backdated for the month.

Actually, I know the answer because I have done it (in I2K anyway) and checked to make sure it worked. You can backdate a price plan change up and then future date the price plan change down and they will both work. So to answer the original question, yes, you can have them raise you minutes this month and have the move back down future dated so you only pay the difference in the 2 months and not the higher charge for the next month in advance.
...
Right, but if something happens again and you need the larger plan backdated again, you're out of luck because you had a future dated price plan effective the first day of the bill cycle.
