The new to release (*eventually*) LG VX 4600 replaces the VX 4400

4400 vs 4600
20% less weight
slightly smaller
slightly longer battery life (20% longer)
500 contacts vs. 200 in the 4400
picture messaging, as opposed to an email client support of the 4400
*Analog is only available on some phones whereas the 4400 were all tri mode

4400 vs 4500
the 4500 is available (this is key 🙂 )
4500 is not available in analog. dual mode only
the 4500 has a speakerphone

that's basically all i have for you in differences between the two. and they look different. not sure why this phone (the 4600) is being released besides that it looks a little burlier.

Well, according to the Verizon website, the LG VX4600 IS available as of now in my area (Pacific Northwest). My question is this: what is the Verizon strategy to offering both the LG 4600 AND 4500 in such quick succession? They seem fairly closely matched in terms of features, although the 4500 is slightly better and a little more expensive, but they are both obviously "mid-tier" phones. Any thoughts/facts/opinions my friends?

As of right now, at least in Philly, the 4600 is only av available on the internet. It is a way to drive internet sales channel. Give customers a phone that they will probably like, and make it available exclusively through one channel. It also does not have all of the voice activated features of the 4500, which I have found to be either hit or miss. Some love it others do not. Thats what I think.
