Amazon Question
I already did a search on this, but the thread was huge and full of rants, so it was difficult to find out any useful information. I don't want to start the whole "which is better" debate...I'm just looking for some facts and this is the best place to ask with the most knowledgeable people. What I would like to know, however, is what is the disadvantage, if any, with purchasing a phone and contract from Amazon? Can I add additional options later, like insurance? Can I walk into a Verizon store with my phone and get a software upgrade, if needed?
Thanks
Brian

Would I qualify for the New every Two program with this as well?

Brian,
Go to your local store, if you are getting a better deal thru amazon its not worth it. Pay the extra bucks and get in person service. Support your local businesses man its the reason were all here. Just to give you an idea, there is nothing worse to a sales rep to have a customer come in that got there phone off the internet. Yes I understand its all VZW but we as sales reps make commission off of sales not off of doing customer service for internet sales. Thats all I have for you, have good day.

Thats what it boils down to, if you want to save a couple of bucks, fine, thats understandable, however when you have a problem with your phone and you take it in to your local store dont be suprised if they blow you off or seem short with you.

As long as it is a model that they support, it makes no bearing on where you got it. I can caution that i've seen new and used online, so make sure it's new.
As for new every 2, that is a promotional offer provided by Verizon, so anyone else selling the phone can sell it for whatever they like.
For exapmle, If I want to sell you my old phone, you are free to purchase it if you like. And since it is a currently supported product, they can service it. However, I don't really care what your current agreement is, so I'm not about to honor your new every two. I'm just selling a phone here... Also, it's not new, so the warranty doesn't apply to you.
Does that make sence?
