Most rumors are saying around November or December.

Cool thanks. I upgraded my phone to a v265 in November-04 on a 2 yr contract. So technically I'm not eligible to upgrade again until November 2006, if I want the "new every two" $100 discount. But the local Verizon store here in NJ tells me I can do an "early upgrade" THIS November, only I wouldn't get the $100 NE2 discount and would have to pay some type of ealy upgrade feee ($35 comes to mind). Does that sound right to you guys? I'm itching to get a RAZR when it becomes available but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it.

You have to meet certain critera other than "I want a phone," such as an elgible price plan and management approval. To perform an early upgrade is getting more difficult (as it should be).

But in case you do an early upgrade, it is an $15 processing fee and you have to resign your contract for another 2 years. You also cannot be on a family share secondary line.... amongst other criteria

The Early Upgrade Policy in the west is that you can get a phone 4 months before the anniversary of your upgrade. If you took the 2 year price, you can get a phone at 20 months or if you took the 1 year price you can get a phone after 8 months. Either way you won't get NE2 but it doesn't matter if you're a shared line or not, as long as you aren't on a "Save" plan.

it's called the processing fee, and it started in mid summer sometime. if a person does an early upgrade or changes an esn, on goes the fee... SO THERE!!!

That phone is pretty sweet and the Nokia 6255 (same kind of CDMA phone) is getting really good reviews. It is currently in testing and should be out around the Holidays.

Some other nice phones coming out are the Razr v3, and new LG & Samsung VCAST phones. Nokia also has a really nice pda coming out.

i get a little nervous when it comes to cdma nokias, especially if it is a flip phone. I think I will hold judment on that one until it is out a few months.

I would never get a RAZR phone. I know 4 people that got them when they were released and none of them are happy with it. They even got them for free and wish they hadn't done it. 2 of them had the outside screen break and all of them say it gets poor reception and has a short battery life.

While it is VERY slim and light, I'd rather have a reliable/durable phone that can handle heavy use for at least a day and a half.

Hey- it's a free country, buy whatever phone you like 🙂 I will say that yours is the first and only story I've heard of ANYONE being dissatisfied with a RAZR phone. My brother has the Cingular version, a few of my friends have it, some colleagues at work, and friends of friends...and I have yet to hear anything but praise and positive feedback, most going as far to say it is the best phone they ever owned. And virtually every review I have read thus far echoes those sentiments. I'll personally be the first one in line when Verizon releases its version.

I won't be getting the RAZR when it comes out for VZW. Why? Because its TOO BIG.

Yah, its very slim, but have you scoped how WIDE and TALL the sucker is? Not for me. 😕

I am just curious, will they finally get it right and give full access to BT? I know every carrier that offers this phone let you use the phone as is and they all give full acess to OBEX. Are they disabling it now which is causing it to take forever to come out for Verizon?

I'm waiting too. I was told by a Best Buy person that it will be exclusive to Best Buy and should be released by mid-September(next week). He said their Verizon rep came in last week and told them.

Wrong. It is exclusive to the indirect channel. Best Buy must think that is only them...
