Dont you verion customers get tired of having to do little stupid things, like dial a certain code for this situation, or watch your mobile to mobile in that situation, not saying verizon isnt good but seems like they have some control issues to me. Dont want to do anything to my phone unless I want to do it, you know? ๐
...
Just another orange rep that doesnt know his competition! We have unlimited mtm.
...
didnt say you didnt have mobile 2 mobile, but if someone call you who is a Verzion cust and they have unknown call, it will not count, isnt that stupid, seeing how savvy Verizon is! I'm not a employee of Cingular!!!
...
that's true if you restrict your # it doesn't count for them on incoming calls.
...
WTF? Seriously how many people get a large amount (or any for that matter) of people calling them who block there number calling them?
...
Silly people, it doesnt matter, its the principle, if verizon were savvy enough it wouldnt matter if it is blocked or unblocked! ๐คฃ
...
You do know that all companys dont count #s with blocked caller ids for m2m not just verizon
...
THIS INFORMATION IS VERY VERY UNTRUE. IF YOU BLOCK YOUR NUMBER AND YOU ARE CALLING FROM A VZW PHONE IT'S STILL MOBILE TO MOBILE. please don't confirm anything like this if you aren't it's true or not. it's NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT true. The switch knows what number is calling, it's just blocked when it gets to your phones caller ID is all.
...
This isn't true anyway - every carrier knows the actual world number for both ends - else call setup will fail.
...
I know it's true but it just one of the few minor things I'm talking about must irritate you as a cust of vzw. Dial this for updates, no m2m if num blocked, sound more like "We never stop trying to control You"
...
The dial for updates is just to download the preferred roaming list and doesn't really need done that often. Does dropping calls and horrible cs irrtate u????
...
I rarely drop calls and no just the lack of us not having the best features! Beats being a part time employee with all that labor you guys have to do! Not to mention the different Maps you have to keep up with!!!! ๐คญ
...
Part time? I wish I could be part time! The maps we have to keep coming up with it? Sounds like a typical orange reply. Like I said earlier Just switch to Vzw we can probably find you a job taking out the garbage or getting us lunch, you'd make more money anyway!

What is this nonsense! ๐ National IN Calling
If Caller ID is not present or Caller ID Block is initiated, National IN Calling does not apply to incoming calls and will apply to outgoing calls only. National IN Calling is not available to customers whose wireless exchange restricts the delivery of Caller ID or with fixed wireless devices with usage substantially from a single cell site. National IN Calling does not apply if Call Forwarding or No Answer/Busy Transfer features are activated or to data usage, including Push to Talk calls, Picture Messaging or Video Messaging, calls to check your voice mail and calls to Verizon Wireless customers using Airfoneรยฎ Service or any of the VZGlobal services. National IN Calling does not apply in tho...

CDMA tri-mode or All-Digital phone with Verizon Wireless software. What I cant just pick any phone? I'm shocked!!!! ๐ฒ

Ok you got the job you can clean our bathrooms now. But don't worry we are usually to busy porting cingular #'s to use them. Keep reading and soon you'll be cleaning windows and washing our cars!

LOL!

I'm sorry, but you truly are seeming dumber and dumber as you keep ranting.
I thought you had a little knowledge about phone, but I guess not. Just in case you didn't realize it, all phones that Verizon Wireless makes are either CDMA tri-mode or All-Digital phones w/ VZW service. Therefore, you can just "pick any phone."
And if you're talking about the fact that you can't just pick up a GSM phone and use it, it's because we have CDMA service. At the same time, you can't exactly use a CDMA phone on GSM service. Make sense?
Please, learn what you're talking about, gain a little knowledge about technology and then come back here and post. Otherwise, please stop bothering us with the nonsense.
...
I suppose what they were referring to is that with GSM you can purchase any GSM phone and just get a SIM card with the service provider. But let me point something out. If that phone is not a true Cingular phone...yes they also have an approved device list also...then a tech cannot help with an issue such as software fixes. And you can purchase a phone and use on vzw also that doesn't say VZW. Alltel would work. But if there is any conflicts a vzw tech would not help.
...
i am confused on the dial this for this comment, anytime i have ever called customer care i can get someone in less than a minute the last few cingular customers that i have had in my store porting their numbers had to call customer care and it took more than 5 minutes to get a rep on the line so they could get their account number to port.
...
He was tlking about our *228 he's an orange rep wishing he could come to Vzw. We offered him a job washing our cars. But he has to think about it. My question was "what is there to think about?" You'll make more than you do at cingy

Freedomrep? As in Freedom wireless? Are you in Ohio or Pa?

freedom...mall reps...hate mall stores! People drive miles to a mall to buy a phone because "they were there" and then come to their local dealer when they need help because of the huge inconvenience to drive those miles again...
I wish mall stores/websales/telesales would just go away...
But then again, when I help that customer and explain how the pay structure is, and the customer is very grateful for my help...I usually get the next phone and all their friends and families sales. Except for those that will drive 4 hours to save 10 bucks even with the price of fuel!

Whats wrong with mall reps? I have been a mall rep for 6 1/2 years! We are good people whats ur point? Wanna come work me cuz your losing sales? Sure. As is true for most, if not all carriers.
...
Sure. Same thing with every product. GM has a Pontiac line that competes with its Chevrolet line with its Buick line with Saturn...etc. And then you have Pontiac dealers that compete with one another. You make it sound like someone should offer a product and have one place to sell this. Dell? Dell sucks...won't even offer real computer processors like AMD. (off topic tangent, sorry). But Dell has one distributor for their computers. Which btw did well at first, but people are back to wanting to buy something they are trying out. When I was in the car sales industry people would say that soon everyone would buy their cars online. NOPE Car buying is not a logical purchase. Why pay 20k for a piece of metal that will be worth 1k in 5 y...

Didn't say anything about the reps themselves, it is just irritating when that people comes into my store needing help because their phone has to go to a tech and the mall store they bought it from won't do anything but give directions to the retail store. But when I give them a phone to use and drive the 30 miles myself to get that phone to the retail store...so the customer did not have to make the trip AND had a phone to use while his phone was gone, most customers appreciate this service and see why it is worth more to buy from me. Of course you could also bid your services to the cheapest doctor when you need surgery too...but then again, if you want good service it doesn't come free...

I would rather have to dial *228 to update my roaming once in a while than have the issue of dropping calls all over the place because Cingular doesn't give you any way to update your phone.
And VZW also has in-store technicians that will upgrade my software if there is a problem with it. With my Cingular phone, if there is a software problem, I just have to deal with it or pay full retail price for a new phone.
Seems to me that VZW has it right here, not Cingular.

Yeah I think it would be more irritating to be paying for a service and have my calls dropped or my phone messing up my tv,monitor, or radio when I get a text... AS for the restricted number it's only with people that have caller id block on and its solved by simply putting *82 in the number when you store it...

Could you please explain the *82 comment from your post.
Thanks

Caller ID blocking. Here is how it works. You can do a per use by dialing *67 followed by the ten digit number you are calling. On their phone it will read something like "restricted" instead of the number. That is per use. Or, you can contact customer care and have permament caller ID blocking so every call will read that on the recieving end. However, you can take this off per call by dialing *82 then the 10 digit number you are calling and then send. You could put someone in your phonebook as an entry such as *82555-555-1234. Now if you dial this number from your phone book the caller ID blocking will be disabled for this ONE call. Same thing if you don't have caller ID blocking but you call someone that you don't want them to se...

it doesnt matter about incoming... only outgoing.. it's your number thats blocked. You wouldnt want to block your number from anyone that you talk to for long periods on MTM anyway... not sure where you were trying to go with that...

READ MY POST BUDDY.. these other people aren't getting the word out. Just cuz a number is blocked, it's only blocked by caller ID. the Switch STILL know's what number is calling. So what you're saying is completely WRONG!

No it doesn't... buddy Mobile to Mobile is caller id based. Look up in any calling plan guide...

then that's a verizon thing. cuz trust me, a blocked number is seen by the switch. if you wanna test it. contact me, I'll be happy to prove it to you.
...
Im well aware of what the switch can see... but it isnt the switch we are talking about is it? We are talking about the billing of a plan.. And either way you slice you were wrong.
...
I've read the actual information regarding how M2M is billed. It's more liberal in giving out M2M than the website describes so what is done in practice falls under the guidelines on the website. Even if everyone on VZW blocked their number on every call, they would still get "in" calling unless they were on the extended network in an area that didn't support a suppressed caller id. Most networks are able to pass the caller id information with out it showing on the recieving phone. Otherwise people would make all the harassing/illegal calls they wanted and just block their number.
...
Cingular does give you a way to update your phone. It is an automatic update sent over the air at various points throughout the day so that you as a customer do not have to remember to dial something such as *228. If you're dropping calls all over the place, then it isn't because your phone's priority list isn't being updated.
Forsyth, since when have you been dropping calls all over the place with Cingular? I had taken your experience with Cingular in Pittsburgh very differently from a discussion we've had in the past.

I sold and used cingular and I had a v600 at the time I was a user. Why could my verizon phone get out litterally everywhere I went but my cingular phone barely got a signal in the mall or many buildings I went into? For me after my own "test" it seemed pretty obvious. I am not saying there are not places cingular works and VZW does not but overall is what we mainly talk about. BUT everything is void cause it all depends on lacation.

I have had a wonderful experience.....until I moved. Now it is off and on signal in my new house. Everywhere else it is good though.

well if your not an employee then you must just really have no brains.. Please don't post anymore feeble attempts to try and bring down verizon because hence your name your just making your company seem that much more pathetic than it really is!!!! only real attempts not pathetic made up ones that you have no idea what you are talking about!!!

Speaking of issues, I think that you're full of them.
You have to keep track of your minutes no matter what company your with. The only time you have to keep track of Mobile to mobile is if you don't have a plan with unlimited mobile to mobile.
Not only that, but other carriers have people dial numbers to update PRL's too, not just Verizon Wireless. Not too long ago, Sprint required you to actually go into a store to update the PRL, you couldn't do it over the phone!
Seriously, either do some more research and learn what you're talking about or just leave us alone...
...
Not backing up mr. Cingular, but anytime a Sprint cust calls customer service, their PRL is automatically updated... and w/ Sprints billing issues, that could be up to a couple times a day ๐คฃ
