how exactly does it work. i checked out verizons website and am abit confused.
1) $0.99 daily access. thats about $30/month
2) $0.10 per min. since i don't pay for a plan with bulk min then i must pay per min.
3) unlimited incalling and nights - cool
4) activation fee up to $35. uptp? could it be free?
5) $20 setup fee?
6) $50 airtime package. i thought this was pay as you go and not prepay.

this sounds expensive.

You got it all right its $30 per month plus any daytime minutes you use.

$20 set up fee is the same as an activation fee, which can be up to $35.

Pay as you go is just another name for prepay

1- yep, that's about 30 bucks a month
2 - yep, if the call isn't VZW to VZW or after 9pm before 6am then it is 10 cents a minute
3 - yep
4 - activation fee depends on where you purchase the phone. Since it is the only garuanteed money the person will get, some agent...

I think the idea is for people that know how good VZW is, but can't pay a bill on time for their life.

It's crazy expensive, but has no credit check.

I personally do not like INPulse very much. The $1/day automatic fee and no unlimited weekends make it not the best deal for a lot of ppl.

If you can live with less coverage than what Verizon offers, I'd check out T-Mobile To Go (very good if you buy only the larger minute cards) or Net10 (good if you make at least 300 minutes/month in calls). Or perhaps wait for Amp'd (spelling?), sort of a Verizon spin-off that may be have some prepay options that will be launching in a few months (with very cool phones and an emphasis on 3G, allegedly).
