exactly what is "IN-CALLING" and what makes it so great that people would say that it is one of the best things vzw has (besides evdo, cool phones, and market share)?

i used to sell phones, and i never did understand this... i always thought it meant that verizon customers can call any other verizon customer for free, at any time...and every carrier has that calling plan feature available, in fact most people i talk to refer to it as mobile-to-mobile...

if "IN-CALLING" is vzw's M2M, what makes it so great so great?

Yes, that's it, M2M,Verizon is really the only carrier that takes advantage of it and markets it effectively, your right, every carrier has it, but people will elave another carrier just to come over to Verizon so they can be "in" it was a great idea to actually market the hell out of it.

Because VzW is the only one who includes SMS and MMS in their M2M package. That means no more charges for sending your mom a text to say that you'll be late for dinner or to send your buddy (who has vzw) a picture of the girl who is makin you late to dinner with your mom.

Being 'IN' allows me to call all my friends and family anytime for as long as I choose.
I think that's a big deal

Here is the big seller of "IN" minutes from verizon, they work virtualy everywhere you can use your phone.. Most carriers have limits on the M2M minutes, such as they only work on that paticular carriers towers even if you have the national plan, so, that is the biggest benefit of verizon's IN minutes, you can use them everywhere..

Cingular has M2M nationwide too. It just depends on what your friends have.

For example, a LOT of my friend have VZW so having "in" minutes (m2m) is more beneficial to me with vzw than having m2m with say Sprint or Cingular.

My sister on the hand talks to her b/f a lot who has Cingular so if she switched to VZW she'd end up paying $50 more per month to replace those m2m minutes she averages with him with regular anytime minutes.

The reason why VZW "in" does better than the others' m2m is because of:

a) marketing
b) VZW is gaining a lot of customers each quarter, so more and more people come because they had a friend or family member switch and now they have a bigger benefit of switching.
