Verizon Offers Settlement To V710 Owners

Today, 3:58 PM source: Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless earlier this month reached a settlement in the class action suit brought against it by V710 owners. Subscribers who purchased V710s have 4 options to choose from before December 9, 2005. They can keep their V710 and receive a $25 credit from Verizon. They can return their V710 and all accessories for a full refund but keep their service. They can also return the phone for a refund and break the service agreement without a termination charge. Additionally, users who are satisfied with their handset can opt out of the class.

What is the problem with the 710? This phone has been way better than the 265. 😕 😕

Some people claim that Verizon "illegially" advertised the phone as fully bluetooth when indeed it was "crippled" to only perform certian functions. I think for hte most part it is way blown out of porportion, I personally have never met a customer (in the stores) than complained about it, most average consumers have no idea what bluetooth can even do with the exception of thehandsfree unit (which this device does)

There is NO problem with the v710 Vzw once (prior to Jan 1 2005 )advertised the bluetooth on it has full OBEX. Once it was released consumers and Vzw realized that it was not Full OBEX hence causing false advertising! Consumers sued Vzw for this and now Vzw is trying to reach a settlement by offering other options.

I see. I was wondering what the issue was. I prefer to sell this one vs the 265. The 265 is basically a v60 (crapola) with a camera. The 710 absolutely destroys the 265 in service and dependability. Like wfine said everyone here doesn't use the bluetooth for anything other than a headset.

Thanks.

did verizon actually advertise as such or was it just speculations spread about by misinformed reps? Kinda like the launch of the 8100 minus the mp3 player.
