Did VZW purchase CRICKET (leap comm)?

Just wondering, I've heard that Verizon purchased LEAP communications (AKA CRICKET), is this true??? and if it is.. what will cricket customers expect

Just vague rumors from people.... and when I was shopping for a cricket phn on ebay it said so in the auction that's why I was asking about it.

No Vzw did not prurchase cricket, however you can now use your cricket phone anywhere in the country (for an add. fee) because they signed a roaming agreement with Vzw.

also cricket should be carring evdo phones around first of year, and be setting up some of their network on evdo equipment.

oh that would be kinda cool, I don't have cricket but I've been thinking bout getting my little yappin sister one lol so she can talk all she wants.
Many people were concerned that cricket was getting bought out because for the unlimited minutes.

I used to have cricket, i left for vairous reasons, but overall Cricket is a very good service, and now with the roaming agreement with verizon, you can go all over the country!

Actually, Verizon Wireless purchased the Michigan markets of Cricket (Leap) for better coverage in that area, all Cricket customers in that market started migrating to the Verizon Wireless network the last week of September.

Cricket customers were given an option to choose a plan with a contract with Verizon Wireless, go prepaid with Verizon Wireless w/o a contract or just be without service.

So yes, Verizon did purchase the "Michigan" markets of Cricket.
